These guys are great. They came when they were expect. Fast with the move and careful with the fragile items. Also timely with their loading and loading of the truck. No problems or complaints from me. Don't know what else to say but they did what they needed to and did it well.

Very bad service. First, the movers came 1 hour earlier than specified. We were still asleep and not ready for the move. Second, they did not wrap all the furniture even though I have told them many time. They felt angry after they got the instructions from me again. Finally, they damaged my heavy items. The movers just dragged my furniture without lifting. They also bumped my washer and dryer while moving. They forced the fridge to come out from the kitchen and scratched the house trim... DO NOT USE THEM. The bad reviews in Yelp are true.

My true rating is 0.We had a reservation a couple weeks ago with A-1 AllState Movers for arrival between noon-2pm. At approximately 1:30pm we received a call from the manager at the A-1 office informing us that the arrival would now be between 2pm-3pm or moved to the following day.Now anyone that has ever moved knows that it is a stressful process and in the midst your living space is completely disrupted the day of... So moving our reservation (set weeks ago) was not an option. We can barely find anything!We waited... And waited until 3:15 rolled around and still hadn't received an update or movers. So we tried contacting the office of which NO one answers any of the 3 numbers. That is until I called from a different number than the one that was linked to our reservation, immediate answer. Magic!The manager informs us that the crew has been trying to reach us on my bf cell... He & the cell phone are sitting right beside me. Try another lie sir.So the manager tells us he will get an update and call us right back... 15 min later, no update and yet again the manager has lost his phone I assume bc he's not answering our calls. Luckily, the actual movers that are off site on another assignment call us and inform us that they told the manager first thing this morning our reservation would be severely delayed, but other crews were available if we contact the manager.Numerous phone calls and voicemails later, still no word from the manager.I would never recommend this company to anyone. You'll plan your moving process and then spend the day waiting on movers to never show and frantically call other companies hoping they're available.

Yikes. The first time (a year ago) I used this company, they did an amazing job! Called again for this move, and it was awful. The movers called me at 1pm (when they were supposed to arrive) to ask if they could stop at TMobile to fix their phone. Uh no... sorry. Once they arrived, they worked quickly.... until they got to my new place. They took forever and couldn't get my couch in the doorway. This is a typical 3 person couch from Ashley furniture, nothing huge. He told me "We either scratch your couch or leave it in the hallway, you pick". They broke the light off of the ceiling in the apartment, scratched the wall and the door up, and ruined my couch. They didn't even deliver everything. Today is one week later, and after calling daily, I got my last item delivered to me. What a joke.

A friend used this company the week before my move and had excellent results. I only wish I could say the same. So it should be noted that A-1 simply contracts your move to anybody it wishes. The three movers who moved my friend offered to do my move for less money.  I should have taken them up on it.  But I felt it was only right that I stay with A-1 as contracted.  Silly me. Not only did the three "movers" who showed up not pack the truck appropriately to make only one trip, they wouldn't honor simple requests.  I have a 9' x 5' table and I asked that the top be dismantled from the apron so that I could move it to storage (consisted of removing 20 screws and blocks of wood).  They didn't want to do that. So surprise, they couldn't fit it into the storage unit.  That wasted over 2 hours (and yes, they charge by the hour). From this moment on, things spiraled out of control.  They dismantled two beds -- tore one up so completely so that I had to buy all new wood and brackets just to get it set up again.  When they placed my washer and dryer in the new laundry room, but tore a 4 inch hole in the linoleum and then tried to cover it up with the machines, never once mentioning it. There's absolutely no way they didn't know what they did.  I'm renting so guess who has to pay for a new floor?  I had a lot of glass articles and marked my boxes appropriately.I should have been warned when one of the guys mentioned that I had a lot of glass. Why I marked the fragile boxes on four sides I'll never know because I now have a ton of broken items even though I wrapped them in paper and bubble wrap -- really??  I had asked that all the boxes be placed in one bedroom, sorted by room, as each box was clearly marked which room it was for.  What I got was a total mess.  No rhyme or reason to how the boxes were stacked and thrown 5 and 6 high and 7 deep.  Then let's talk about the "estimate."  My move should not have taken even 5 hours.  Thanks to the poor packing of the truck and the two hours wasted at the storage unit because they wouldn't take the table apart, two trips had to be made and my 5 hour move turned into a 10 hour move. Yep -- double the cost. It's really hard not to feel that their intent was to do just that from the onset. To add insult to injury, I had a hammock on a metal frame that I didn't have room for at the new place.  I offered it to two of the movers for free. Sure, they'd take it!  Later that evening, I received a call from the former landlord.  He told me that a metal frame was left behind and I needed to come get it and dispose of it.  Really? The jerks so willingly took the hammock but left the frame behind -- but couldn't just tell me that??? So yet another trip back to the old place.  Is this what I get for being "nice"?  I called the office on Monday and talked to Marlon, the manager who scheduled the move.  To say he was indignant and worthless is an understatement.  He "raised his voice" and was upset that I even called.  Told me to read the liability clauses on the contract and basically to piss off.  Well, better to be pissed off than pissed on.  I got both!  I should also mention that one of the three hired "professionals" was under the weather.  Spent a lot of time in my bathroom and, of course, asked me to find toilet paper.  Did I receive any discount for getting only 2-1/2 movers?  Ha!  Hardly.  Avoid "Ivan's" team if at all possible.  Better yet, avoid A-1 Allstate Movers.
