Let me preface this by saying that I have not used their services, this review is based on telephone communication.I've been researching moving companies for an across-state move and called them this morning to get a quote since they never replied to my email communications. I currently live in a city just outside of Houston, where they are located, and was interested in them because of their "flat rate/no hidden costs" claim on their website. I called and the man who answered did not give his name. I told him I wanted a quote and told him where I currently live. His reply? "You know we're located in Houston. Don't you have movers in your town?" Umm, yes. So does that mean you can't move me? "Noooo, we CAN, it'd cost more though since you're not in Houston." Well, that's why I'm calling. I want to know how much it'd cost.At this point the man just sighed, like it was a huge imposition of me to ask him to actually do his job. I gave him my zipcodes and he plugged them in, gave me an amount and then promptly hung up before I'd even had a chance to reply.The telephone conversation was enough to tell me that I didn't want to give them my business, but their "no hidden costs" claim also stopped me short. I understand charging extra for longer distances, but the quote this guy gave me was almost a thousand dollars above what I had calculated based on their website rates.

I was moving from a storage unit into my home.  My move was quoted to begin at 9am Sat morning starting at my storage unit.  Movers showed up 2 hrs late.  I called the office several times making sure the guys were not at my home; no one responded.  About 1.5 hours into my appt time frame someone called stating they had issues with the truck.  The crew (3 guys) showed up about 11am and NO ONE speaks/understands English.   From that point I should have declined the service and hired another company but I was anxious and didn't want to postpone my move. Bad mistake #1. The moving crew took their sweet ole time moving my things from the storage unit into the truck.  I requested an extra guy and he practically did nothing but point to another guy loading the truck on where to place objects.  They came with 3 dollies and NEVER USED THEM.  Needless to say, I moved into the storage unit in under 4 hours with a crew of 3 guys - there is NO WAY it should have taken 8 hours with these guys.  Oh wait - when I moved in I paid a flat fee (significantly less than what I ended up paying to A-1 Allstate Movers, Inc) and my move out was an "hourly rate of $75/hr with two guys and $110/hr with three guys). They purposely wasted more of my time to keep the clock rolling.  Bad mistake #2.  The "owner" Marlon Serrano was very courteous when soliciting my business - not so much at the end of the day when it was time to pay and he verbally PROMISED me a discount AND no trip charge ($45) when I spoke to him about my dissatisfaction in the lack of professionalism and consideration for my time waiting for his crew @9am to no avail.  He removed the $45 trip charge and said that IS the discount.  Needless to say I was pissed!  He threatened to call the police on me.  I wouldn't recommend this company to my worse enemy.  I'd advise others to take heed to my review and others on HomeAdvisor, google & yelp. Be very suspicious of "good" reviews and don't believe the hype.  TERRIBLE service, poor management, shady business practices.   Note to owner: communication is KEY when doing business and your word is your bond in life!

Honestly, the best moving company around. There is a reason why this company has been around since the early 1980s. Very fast, kind, affordable, and knowledgeable compared to all other moving companies. I highly recommend using this company for your next move. Every time I use them, it always goes seamlessly!

If I can give this 0 star, I would. This is the worst moving company I have experienced by far. I scheduled them at 9.00 am, no one ever showed up until 1.30 pm. When I call back to ask what's going on, nobody picks up the phone at all. I don't know how this company is still in business.

Movers were great even though hey turned a 16 minute commute to a 50 minute commute. When I asked the "boss" man if I had to pay because the movers got lost, he had major attitude. Actually told me that wasn't his problem
