Just kicked the National Movers crew out of our house. Dispatchers and sales team committed to an estimate based on the contents of our 3BR condo - when truck and crew arrived, they immediately tried to renegotiate their prices, even before seeing the condo and ~600 cubic feet of boxes that we had already packed. Since our move was estimated by National as ~1,100 cubic feet, and all that remained aside from boxes were two beds and several dressers, we believe the company misrepresented the price, either negligently or intentionally, in order to engage in onsite price gouging.My wife then called the company HQ, only to be told that her contact was "unavailable." His substitute failed to address the issues - unprepared crew, price gouging - and claimed that we must have misinformed his colleague on the size of our move.Hey, we live in this space, we know how much stuff we have, and have moved locally several times. Sadly, other reviewers here only realized they were getting ripped off after they had permitted National Movers to collect their belongings. We will sleep better tonight knowing that we can do better than National Movers, and so can you. Avoid this company!

This company deserves minus 5 stars.  Same experience as others, dishonest,charged more then quoted. I can't say enough bad things about them!

VERY BAD COMPANY, DISHONEST, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. This was my very first move from state to state using a moving company. I got fooled by the good reviews they have on their own website. The tough part about this company is that because of their name- National Movers- it is literally impossible to find reviews on them online. If you do in depth research, you'll find numerous bad reviews on them. When I originally spoke to Raphael, I was very honest about EVERY SINGLE  item that needed to be moved. He told me regular wrapping was included and that only 3 of my items needed "special wrapping"- tvs, bed, and I agreed to pay for them to be wrapped. The quote that was given to me was $1300 (I have a very small 1 bedroom apt). The day came and 3 guys showed up to pick up the furniture. The main guy started saying ALL items I had had to be special wrapped, which I unfortunately had to agree to, he left me no choice- I needed to make the move asap. The surprise then came when AFTER 2 hrs of wrapping and loading everything onto the truck, the guy says that unfortunately, my couch is "bigger than expected"- although I strictly reported it as a 2 piece L sectional as it is. He says the price is now $2400!!!! (almost double my original quote). I was forced to sign the papers and had no choice now. I felt targeted and fooled, since I as a woman was there by myself. After that point everything turned around, they went from answering all calls/emails promptly to ignoring all of my emails/calls. To top it all off when drop off day came up, there was only 1 guy to do the job!!!! my boyfriend felt bad and had to help him unload and unpack EVERYTHING so my items would be just dragged all over the place. Their excuse was that the other mover called in and could not help out that day. There was no empathy, no consideration in lowering the total cost that I got stuck with, which you would think there would be. Overall, they made my moving experience even more stressful and financially tough than it already was. I am just writing this review to help people prevent this from happening to them too.
