FIRST HELPER DID NOT SHOW UP. I recently scheduled a Dolly to move a few items to a donation center, including a mattress, coffee table and stereo. The reservation experience was a breeze, and soon after I received a text from my assigned helper (Juan V.) confirming the arrival time, so I was pretty excited about this service from the very start. The scheduled arrival window was 11:30am - 12:00pm. After waiting for 45 minutes, I decided to text the helper at 12:15, but received no response. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and waited another hour before texting again. Still no response. I received no email or text from Dolly customer service apologizing for the mishap, and any attempt to contact them directly were not successful.Around 4:30pm (5 hours after the scheduled pick-up time), I received a text from a completely different helper (Robert S.) who had been assigned to me. Luckily I was home when he arrived at 5:30pm. I was quite annoyed at this point, but I will say that Robert TOTALLY REDEEMED the Dolly brand: he was communicative, courteous and extremely helpful. It took 5 minutes to load up his truck and we were off to the donation center. Robert was also kind enough to drop me off at my house on the way back.The 2 star review is thus more of a reflection on Dolly itself from a customer service standpoint, and not my helper Robert, who was exceptional. I simply wish there was more communication on Dolly's behalf to rectify the original no-show.

I'm writing this review by proxy for a friend who just used Dolly for her move (she'd do it herself but doesn't use a computer).  What I know is 1) their quote was 1/3 that of others movers she contacted and they charged her exactly that amount, 2) they showed up on time and did an excellent job of loading her stuff, 3) they were pleasant and professional, and 4) they did a totally excellent job.  I guess everyone has a bad day, hence the 1-star reviews.  She's on the side of the 5-star reviews.  They were wonderful.

Unfortunately the Dolly check they issued me still won t clear at the bank.  It's been 6 days.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. This was hands down the worst move I've ever had- and I've moved 5 times in the past 2 years. To preface- I injured my back a couple days before my move and really needed some dependable help to pack my uhaul. My first dolly cancelled ONE HOUR before he was supposed to start. I got an automated message from dolly that said "if we don't find a new helper for you before tomorrow morning, your job will be top priority!".... excuse me??? I'll be top priority tomorrow? My move was in one hour! I should be top priority ASAP!I never ended up getting assigned a new mover and my boyfriend and mom had to pack the whole uhaul themselves.Next- my move into my new place. The two guys were an hour late to start (I guess I should be thankful they showed up at all) and one of them was drunk. Like functioning drunk but still.... come on people. The shit storm continues....They were honestly just really low quality movers. They took forever to move my furniture, kept having problems with their dolly and just were all around very unimpressive. I would not waste your time using dolly. They have some serious customer service problems (no one ever tried to contact me until their movers weren't properly compensated for a trip) and when I asked for a manager I got someone texting me. I honestly should've gotten this entire move free for the hassle I went through. Do yourself a favor and hire a real moving company- you won't regret it.

We hired Dolly to take a huge box TV to the Chicago Recycling Center.  It weighs 165lbs and is bulky.  Two guys came to take care of this.  They were outside of their anticipated window, but the lead guy was in consant contact with me letting me know when he would be here, so not a problem (really rainy day lead to bad traffic).  They were very nice and courteous and got it out of my house without a single ding/nick in my walls.  So, great job all around.  Would use again.
