I am submitting this review on this site because I sent the comments below to All Mighty and never received a response -

Spent close to 40 years as a member of a military family and with 20 years in the military myself - I've experienced close to 20 long distance moves - give or take. This one was THE most unprofessional I've ever experienced.

I'll try to be brief.

PICK UP: When Express Van Lines (the moving company selected by All Mighty to conduct the move) finally called to arrange a pick time. I was asked if 5 boxes would be enough for the load. My response was - "I have no idea how many boxes are needed to move a one bedroom apartment - no furniture except for a bed & mattress. You guys are the professional movers and know more about that than I do".

DAY OF MOVE: Got a call from Jay - Express Van mover - said he would be there about 1:00 PM. Long story short - arrived approx 3:30. Picked up wrong truck initially and had to return it and switch. Got a locked truck as a replacement and had to try to hunt down the key. Never did find it.

Began packing -- determined he didn't bring enough packing material & need to get more and to get a tool to remove the lock from the locked truck. Returned approximately 1 1/2 hours later with more packing materials and a lock cutting tool. (and appears my costs were about to go up)

Finished packing about 8:30PM. In consultation with Alex @ Express Van Lines it was determined my cost at pick-up address AND at delivery address would now be $1015.00 rather than the $875 initially decided upon.
Purchase of additional packing materials? Who knows?

In fairness - I was in a hurry to get on the road for the 300 miles trip to my next bed for the night - so what follows is partially my fault. Failed to make a thorough enough inspection. Depended upon the "professionals" that every nook and cranny was accounted for.

DAY OF DELIVERY

Some broken items - and many missing items.

For some (not all) of the missing items - I accept responsibility.

When Jay - the mover - indicated he was done - I made a cursory check of the empty rooms. I failed to open drawers in the kitchen and failed to open a 5 shelf pantry. It became apparent some of those things were left behind. I called my realtor, in Surprise and asked that she check to see if that was the case. She did - they were left behind. I passed that info on to Alex (Express Van Lines) and that I accepted responsibility for those numerous items not being packed. I accept that - and admitted that to Alex in subsequent conversations.

For those things - I accept responsibility. I failed to make a thorough inspection

For the items described below I do not accept responsibility.

Two broken table lamps, crushed lamp shades, numerous broken light bulbs and sundry other little stuff.
(However have no intention of submitting a claim - not worth the hassle).

The detachable legs to my adjustable bed failed to arrive. I know those were packed because Jay (the packer) and I had a discussion about those. Along with several items from a closet from which other items DID arrive. Notably (but most assuredly more) an iron, several assorted mops and broom and other cleaning materials and an "shoulder carried" Oreck vacuum from the same storage closet my ironing board (which did arrive) came from. My bed frame is currently (and will, until I'm able to find replacements), sitting directly on the floor. All attempts on my part to replace them at my expense have failed thus far. You can't even imagine how complicated the Adjustable Bed business is until you've tried to replace a part.

Incidentally, when I called Alex to discuss these things he became - for lack of a better term - almost antagonistic. Suggesting that the items missing (for which I don't claim responsibility) were due to my not yet opening all my boxes. I indicated I had opened EVERY box that arrived and suggested some boxes may have been left on one truck or another or in some storage facility along the way and asked that he check that possibility. Alex indicated that couldn't have happened.

My last contact(?) with Alex was either Friday the 28th or Sat the 29th. I called - he answered - when he saw it was me he said he would need to call me back. He never did.
