History

Established in 1991. Sterling Van Lines was founded in 1991 by a professional mover named Gerald Cassidy. At that time Jerry had been a professional mover for his entire adult life and had worked for most of the major moving companies. In that time he had accumulated a small fleet of trucks that served various major moving companies. Then in 1995 Jerry became aware of the need for a small move moving company to service moves that were too big for pack and ship companies but also too small for the major van lines who needed larger loads. Since then we have grown each year servicing estate moves, piano moves, antique moves and any combination of smaller moves including many celebrities. We are blessed with unsolicited success stories every week of the year and have now serviced over 20,000 moves.

I have not read any of the other reviews yet, so I am only reviewing my personal experience. I rarely do reviews, but I think so highly of Sterling, I want to give them their appropriate due.Meathead Movers, a local mover used frequently by my wife's company, recommended Sterling to us. We needed a reputable mover that would take a fairly small load from Los Osos, CA to Idaho Falls. Not only was our move on the smallish side, but both service points are fairly remote. Travel can be very challenging, especially during one of the most active winters we've had in the western states for a long time. Even in late April it is still snowing in Idaho and we are getting 50 mph wind gusts throughout California. The mountains and deserts of Utah, Nevada, and Arizona are beautiful to look at, but driving those highways can be downright terrifying. Ugly conditions for any high-profile vehicles!  In addition, my wife and I have not done a long distance move for over 35 years. Of course we were a lot younger then and had a lot less stuff! We really were not sure of what we were getting into. We had lots of questions!Sterling turned out to be the right company for us. From the salesperson, to the delivery contact, to the dispatcher (who was especially helpful), to the guys who did the move - everyone was incredibly patient, efficient, and supportive. Sterling staff worked with us to solve any logistical problems we had. They truly are designed to work with unusual moves to unusual places.  I felt their charges were very reasonable. I figured out what it would cost for us to do it (not counting the potential expense of physical damage to our 62 year-old bods!), and I would certainly go with Sterling if I had it to do over.  Finally, we have opened most of the stuff and have not had any significant damage.  Thanks for making our move a success!

First time I used Sterling Van lines it was amazing !! The second time was very different !!Be care !! I was quoted a 4 hour price and had to pay overtime for them to stop for a drink and fold there furniture matts also broke a few items !!! I will be looking for new movers next time.
