History

Established in 1991. Sterling Van Lines was founded in 1991 by a professional mover named Gerald Cassidy. At that time Jerry had been a professional mover for his entire adult life and had worked for most of the major moving companies. In that time he had accumulated a small fleet of trucks that served various major moving companies. Then in 1995 Jerry became aware of the need for a small move moving company to service moves that were too big for pack and ship companies but also too small for the major van lines who needed larger loads. Since then we have grown each year servicing estate moves, piano moves, antique moves and any combination of smaller moves including many celebrities. We are blessed with unsolicited success stories every week of the year and have now serviced over 20,000 moves.

Friendly staff overall! They booked us on a last minute run from PHX to Rancho Mirage on two pieces of furniture, all went as planned! A bit on the high side but still lower then bids we were getting, you do get what you paid for! I would recommend them without hesitations!!!!

I used Sterling to pick up my baby grand piano in Newport Beach CA, take it to their storage facilities in LA, keep it there for 6 months then deliver it to my home in Phoenix. The piano is made by Steinway and I was very concerned to hire someone that would care for it properly. I had positive experiences at each stage of the processThe piano is now at my new home and it arrived with no problems at all! The moving guys on both ends were excellent and the pricing was very competitive! The office staff was friendly and efficient! I would definitely recommend them and would use them in the future!

We have nothing but excellent things to say about Sterling Van Lines!I had a small move (just one bedroom's worth of items to transport - full size bed/box springs with approx. 8 moving bins) from Los Angeles to Ohio. Never having made such a significant move before, and having a relatively small amount of items, I was very skeptical about finding a moving company that would work for my situation and be trustworthy. Sterling states that they specialize in small moves, and I would agree. Their employees gave me advice both on the phone and in person, and even recommended ways to consolidate my boxes so that shipping would be cost effective. If at all possible, I would recommend an in-home estimate, but I packed my things myself and simply shipped the exact amount of items I originally reported I would. I requested a specific pick-up date for my items in LA, which Sterling was fortunately able to accommodate. My items were held in storage in California until I had an exact address in Ohio for their delivery. I also requested a specific drop-off date for my items, which they were also able to accommodate (it was even a Saturday - much appreciated!!). I received my bed and all boxes in exactly the order I left them. Tony and Doug were an absolute pleasure to work with, and we appreciated their timely communication during the entire process. All staff involved in the packing and transport process were professional and efficient, as well. Moving is stressful enough -- Sterling Van Lines definitely made the process easier for us!

Sterling did a great job. Enrique and his partner were very careful and took the time for wrapping, moving and unwrapping some old antiques . I would use them again we had a quick move from Pasadena to Santa Ana and they were very fast to respond ad fit us in quickly. Everthing was great!!

Our Moving Company recommends Sterling Van Lines to our customers that have smaller interstate moves because we have never heard one complaint from our loyal customer base in all the moves we have referred to Sterling. The staff Jerry, Jay Doug and Sandra are always very kind and professional. Most van lines have a weight minimum of 2,500 lbs. Their weight minimum is 400 lbs.
