History

Established in 1991. Sterling Van Lines was founded in 1991 by a professional mover named Gerald Cassidy. At that time Jerry had been a professional mover for his entire adult life and had worked for most of the major moving companies. In that time he had accumulated a small fleet of trucks that served various major moving companies. Then in 1995 Jerry became aware of the need for a small move moving company to service moves that were too big for pack and ship companies but also too small for the major van lines who needed larger loads. Since then we have grown each year servicing estate moves, piano moves, antique moves and any combination of smaller moves including many celebrities. We are blessed with unsolicited success stories every week of the year and have now serviced over 20,000 moves.

Excellent customer service- we were given a written quote by email after speaking with sandy. The gentlemen that came to crate our item were very thorough and polite and took great care with our item ( a large painting) and then when I called to find out where the item was, I was given the drivers cell and he returned our call promptly. Would definitely use their service again.

I would recommend this company if you have a small load and are moving across country. It was painless, they were fast with communication, they gave frequent updates about arrival and pickup. Nothing was damaged, everything well protected. Price was good. I moved from Chicago to Los Angeles and had a local moving company put all my stuff in a storage unit. Sterling then went and got all my stuff from the unit and brought it to me in California. I got everything one month after my actual move, which was reasonable. They did lose one thing (which was a cheap pegboard that I didn't miss at all) that I don't even really credit to being their fault. Mid-contract I decided to give my bed to a friend and so when they got to the storage unit they were instructed to leave my bed and bed frame there, which they did. Unfortunately, they mistook the pegboard as being an item associated with the bed. Whatever...no big deal. They were great to adjust the load mid-contract and charge me $400 less after the bed was taken off the shipment.I'd use them again.
