I just moved from NYC to LA. Flat Rate did an amazing job. Primo (Ivan) and Wilmer helped deliver and unpack my stuff just now (they just left!) I was so pleased I am jumping on Yelp to let everyone know (particularly their bosses) that Promo (Ivan) and Wilmer were excellent!Message to their bosses: Please recognize their hard work! Give them a promotion and a raise! They certainly deserve it. Two hard working guys!

DO NOT PICK THEM!I moved from Los Angeles to the East Coast using FLatRate Moving. The process was smooth until I found out, at my destination, that they lost 2 items. One being my huge glass desk. How can you lose a huge glass desk? So I noticed right away and told the guys about it. They said it has nothing to do with them, they only deliver what they were given. (???!) So we called the office. The office guy (who has been very polite) said I have to contact the claim department, since the office ONLY arranges moves. So we did that. and guess what? The claim department never replies! There is no number, just an email: claims@flatrate.com. I doubt that there is any one working in this claim department. I guess if you don't mind losing a few things you can choose them. I am thinking about turning this to Atty. You can't lose customer's belongs and ignore us like this! Shame on them.

The FlatRate company offers a great service in their ability to help you pack-up, load and ship your belongings long distance. However, they try in bundle their deliveries in such a way that invariably seems to cause a huge gap between pickup and eventual drop-off dates. We had our apartment packed up at the end of July and were offered a drop-off date of between August 11-20th. While this was less than ideal, no other companies would ship our things last minute at a reasonable cost (FlatRate was quite reasonable). The problems really began as we got closer though. FlatRate promised to narrow the window close to these dates. Finally on August 10, they told us to expect deliver sometime between the 15th and 16th. Today, the 14th, we receive a morning email CONFIRMING deliver on the 15th from 8AM to 1PM. About two hours later, however, they called us back to explain that the other drop-off trip from New York on route to us in Baltimore had cancelling so they were cancelling the shipment altogether. We were told the new arrival date was now the 19th with no offer for a discount or expedited service.I explained that we had driven back to Baltimore early from a vacation with my family specifically for this drop-off. Moreover, I had planned the start of Law School and my girlfriend had planned interviews, based off this drop-off date that allowed us to move into our apartment. ALL of our professional clothes and belongings were in this shipment. Their response was to tell me nothing could be done. I demanded to speak to a manager. They put my on hold multiple times claiming the manager was busy. Finally I was told the manager was finishing a call but would call me promptly. After an hour I called back and was told the manager was "in a meeting" but was further promised I would be called by the end of business. I never was.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!Movers arrived 2 hours late to pick up my stuff in NYC. They were supposed to be done by 1PM and were not done until 3PM so I ended up missing a flight that night. I only received $100 for the movers being late and missing a $600 flight to LA.After multiple attempts to get an ETA on my stuff I finally was given a window that was way off from my original estimate. The sales team assured me the my stuff would arrive within the quoted window and not the different window that was provided after the fact. The movers did not show up during the window that was confirmed with me 2 days ago. They missed both windows that I was given as a matter of fact. I have no idea where my stuff is and I can't get ahold of anyone at the company who can tell me where my stuff is and when the movers will arrive. If there were negative stars I would give this company negative infinity. Do not use this company. Very unreliable and extremely poor communication. The worst moving experience I have ever had after many moves.

This company is crook. They gave me a flat fee for $1,350 and made schedule for my moving on Sunday which was my last day in my previous apartment. Around 10 am on Sunday they came with 3 movers including driver which was their foreman, he checked my packages and said you have a 4 boxes extra and one broom & mop!!? He said they are not the Flat Rate company's workers as that company has no workers & no trucks and makes deal with some movers team and the movers will rent a truck (they rented from the Penske) and pickup the stuff but they don't pay me more than the deal that they made with them.  I agreed to pay extra for my additional stuff but he said I am not doing this job, they always do this to me and I will not work with them anymore, you can sue them. They left and I couldn't find any movers for same day. Final I could find a great company Prodigy which they have their own trucks and movers to do the job for next day (Monday). I had to pay $200 penalty for staying an additional day to landlord. Prodigy came on time with very polite and cooperative movers and did all the job in the best way and after all they charged me $1, 250 for everything. Flat Rate not only didn't apologies for their crappy service but they charged the $1,350 to my credit card !!! I called them and after a lot of calls finally they connected me to their general manage Joy Karavany the most roude woman that I have ever seen in my life, they didn't return my money until I reported to my bank as a fraud and they had to return my money but they charged me $150 for the cancellation !! Amazing conman people!!! Finally after I told them my lawyer is going to file a lawsuit against them, they returned the $150.
