Hello my name is LaShonda Gray and I'm doing a move from Travis, AFB to Louisiana. On May 17, 2016 Rick and Jamal arrived to pack up my move. The gentlemen was very professional, honest, hard working and did an amazing job. Therefore, I have no complaints. With, my next move they will be my go to guys. I feel as though these guys deserve a pay increase with an added bonus. Superb job well done!!!! I've moved many times as a military spouse and have never received that kind of service. Great job gentlemen. Great job!!!!!

My name is Donald and our family moved to from San Ramon California to Eagle Point Oregon in July 2016. Our move costs were pre-negotiated prior to the move based on a set inventory which included box count and furniture items. The moving crew showed up 2 days later than the scheduled move date which cost us additional fees at our apartment complex. After the truck was partially loaded the crew informed my wife that based on their field calculations the price would need to be increased as our items would exceed the maximum allowable weight for the vehicle. The crew leader informed my wife that the most cost effective option was to pay per cubic foot of space versus by weight. My wife was the told the new estimated cost was going to be approximately $10,000 and she would need to agree to the revised price before they could proceed with loading the furniture. it was like they were holding a gun to our heads as we only had a few hours to vacate the property for the new tenants. At that point we had no other options and were forced to accept the new terms. In hind sight I can see that this was just business as usual for this company. They trap their clients into a vulnerable position and extort as much money as they can get. Of course they say you're eligible for discounts if you promise to give good reviews on social media. I haven't got to the best part yet. Since our new residence wouldn't be ready for 3 weeks we made arrangements to take advantage of the companies 30-day storage provision and we stayed in a nearby hotel. Two weeks prior to our anticipated move-in at our new residence I contacted 5 Star Relocation and provided the details for final stages of the move. I was informed they would be outsourcing the delivery to another carrier as they didn't have any deliveries in our area for the foreseeable future. Fast forward to move-in day; On move-in day I meet the carrier at the new residence and he demands payment before unloading our items. I reluctantly pay the man and his helper begins moving items in the home. I notice several of the items are damaged (chest freezer lid smashed beyond repair, missing dining chair legs, smashed boxes, etc.). I asked the carrier who would be responsible for the damages and he indicated that 5 Star Relocation would handle everything. After several emails and phone calls I finally reached a person and they referred me to Anthem move claims. I spent several days getting all the requested information together and submitted our $1,500 claim as instructed. After several weeks had passed I contacted Anthem Claims and the said it could take up to 90 days to review the claim. It's the end of October and I just received notification that after review the company would only be responsible for paying for the claim based on weight are not responsible for replacement cost of damaged items. They estimated the weight of the damaged items at 240lbs and are willing to pay $0.60 per pound (seriously). They have also requested that we sign a document releasing them of liability for future claims and that we pay for it to be notarized prior to sending it back. It sickens me to think that companies can get away with this kind of crap. I beyond angry and plan on sharing my story through every social media outlet possible with hope that it prevents others people from being victimized by moving companies like this. Not only did we get screwed for $5,000 additional dollars in moving fees, we are stuck paying for the items that 5 Star Relocations damaged. These people are despicable crooks and should be forced out of business.

5 star relocations did a great job with our move.  Moving a family and the entire contents of a 4 bedroom house and a 2 car garage is a huge challenge, but the team of movers that helped us got it all done. Great job!

5-Star Relocation moved me out of my North Park condo on June 12th. They were very professional throughout the whole process. They showed up on time (which has never happened in any of my prior moves) and immediately went over my inventory and the estimated fees. While I packed all of my boxable items and kitchen breakables, I had them pack my furniture. Beforehand, I was a bit nervous as I had an antique dining room table and a family heirloom armoire. But seeing them do their thing assured me that my property was in good hands. They wrapped and bound all items appropriately. Even better, they loaded up the truck in 2 hours - an hour faster than was anticipated.I would definitely work with 5-Star Relocation again in the future. One word of advice for those looking for a moving company: WORK DIRECTLY WITH THE MOVING COMPANY and make sure you are not going through a broker. It would decrease the cost and make things a lot less confusing.
