I had an excellent moving experience yesterday.  It was an emotional move clearing out my mother's room.  The team was efficient, timely, and professional making a difficult task uncomplicated.  My expectations were exceeded.

Their customer service sucks! I used them last year and was satisfied with the movers (David and Cliff) and called them again to use them for this move but I got the run around. I called and some guy said he'd call back in 3-5 minutes. After 25 minutes, I called him back and he still couldn't take my call. Newsflash... You're not the only moving company in the area. I will be contacting a different company. Why chase you down to give you my money if there's competition everywhere?

Great value. 2 guys moved our stuff moving from one apartment to another. I took 1 star off since our bed got really dirty at the edge. Any how, overall, we are satisfied with their service. We will definitely hire them again if we move at the end of our lease term. By the way, when you call, they will charge you a deposit to secure your appointment (we paid $39.95 and paid $223.00 out the door = total everything is $263 from River House downtown to Retreat at Cross Mountain).

I read some of the reviews of this place after I booked and don't agree with half of them. We had a great experience. James and Andrew were awesome! They handled all of our furniture as if it was their own and were careful not to touch the walls in our freshly painted house. It rained all day and they didn't complain or seem disinterested once. Management was a little different due to the process of closing out our bill but their prices were the best in town and the movers were perfect.

My experience with this company was very poor.  I have used movers 8 times, and have never had an issue.  I've even used somebody from Craigslist that was better.  My experience starts with my initial phone call.  This was nothing out of the ordinary.  Set the day and time, and give credit card info.  Sunday between 12:30 and 3:30.  Cool.  On Friday, I get 2 phone calls for me to call them.  The credit card number they have on file was incorrect.  Ok, no big deal.  I call back, and give them the correct number.  The guy, Allan, says perfect.  We are all set for Sunday at the scheduled time.  Sunday comes, and we are ready.  We are waiting and waiting. I'm not a pushy person.  3:30 hits, and no movers.  I call to check if somebody is coming.  First call gets dropped after it was answered. I call back.  He says the computers crashed in the morning, and they had to figure everything out by paperwork.  My paperwork wasn't there.  He says he will call me back.  He does, and gets my information again.  I get the charge receipt for my card.  The window is now between 4 and 6.  At that point I'm showing patience.  We take a nap, because now we will be driving at night.  I wake up, and it's 10 mins to 6.  No movers.  I call back.  I asked what the deal is.  Probably going to be another 30-45 mins.  Then the guy on the phone tells me that what happened with our original reservation was on the paperwork the credit card info was incorrect, and it shows they called me twice with no response.  At that point I had to correct him.  Told him I did respond.  Basically, he tried turning it around on me.  I'm not one to ask for free when there's an issue, but this time I spoke up.  I didn't believe paying full price for this kind of service is warranted.  The response I get is that the price I am receiving is a low price, and the cost of business is too high to give discounts.  I requested to talk to somebody higher than the supervisors on duty.  Which by the way aren't coming to the phone to handle the situation.  I get the number and name of the owner, and the General Manager's name.  Told the guy on the phone I need somebody here.  Please make it happen.  10 mins later I get a phone call from David.  He said he is responding to my request to speak to the General Manager.  I asked if he was the General Manager. "Sure."  He basically tells me that they are the largest moving company in San Antonio, and that their phones are always ringing off the hook.  Allan, that said he fixed my credit card number, told the GM the phones were very busy that day, and he messed up.  He did say he would take off $10 for each hour, and that's all he could do.  Told him fine.  Said that it's very expensive to run their business.  Also, tried to make it seem like I just didn't understand how difficult it is to run their business.  Tells me it's a multitasking business. Funny that's the theme of the inability to achieve proper customer service.  Too big to handle their business properly, and they have too low of a price point to pay for their business.  If your people can't take a reservation because they have too much to handle; get more people.  Basically, they want your money regardless of their mistakes.  By 7:15 I cancelled.  No movers.  When I called at 7:15 the guy on the phone says they are on their way.  Sorry too late.  Last thing, if you're the largest moving company in San Antonio, why can't you recover better from your mistakes?  Being the largest doesn't mean you're the best.
