Great experience! Scheduling was a breeze. Steven Golden was my point of contact and he was informative and sincerely honest. He carefully listened to what I had to move and appointed a 3 man crew with the biggest truck. He even got the time estimate pretty close.Ted, Bento, and Paul were my movers. I had a lot of demands and they were very patient. During the process, they were fast, yet gentle with the furniture. I thought since they're cheaper than most, the quality would suffer but that was not the case at all. Highly recommend!

First, let me say that the people who do the scheduling are pleasant and are on top of their game. However, my experience w/ my move was not particularly pleasant and their mgt are difficult to deal w/ and total idiots. I was moving from a (commercial) office building in downtown Houston to an apartment complex 5 minutes away. My move was fairly small - one large bookcase, one large horizontal file cabinet, 10 small boxes, one larger box and two rolling office chairs. My movers showed up as expected - one middle-aged man and a younger guy. B/c this is a high rise office building and this is post 9/11, security requires everyone to show some form of ID in order to enter the building as a 3rd party vendor. The older man had ID but the younger guy did not. Nothing. Nada. Security refused to let him in the building but as a compromise said he could stand by the truck on the loading dock and accept the furniture as it comes to him.Let me also add that Student Movers did not have the requisite amount of liability insurance to even do a furniure pick up at this commerical building. I had to convince/cajole/persude our property mgt. company to relax their standards so I could get Student Movers on the property. They could'nt do me any more favors at this point.I wanted to cancel and reschedule but I had to move today - no time to reschedule. So, I'm left with a one man band to haul all of my furniture and boxes from the 37th floor to the loading dock. It was slow going and I was concerned that what should have been an hour move was now going to run over two hours.I called student movers and spoke to Lucinda, who I believe works in complaince and HR and she was pleasant enough and I explained the situation. She kept reiterating that their moving company takes no responsibility for their movers and what they do. If they show up and fail to show an ID, that is not the problem of student movers b/c they are contractors. I said that I shouldnt pay if the movers were to go over two hours since it was a one man move and she said no - I would be responsible.  She was adamant about that and became very unreasonable and kind of a biotch. What kind of BS is that??I told her when I pay the student movers bill at the end of the move, the check/credit card is going to student movers and not Jose Garcia or John Smith. YOU are responsible for your movers. If they scratch or dent something or fail to show up, you are ultimately responsible. Why is this any different? It doesn't matter if they are contractors. You contracted w/ them. You are hiring them. You need to step up to the plate and take some responsibility. So, basically, I'm guessing that they contract out to illegal aliens (hence, the mover not having ANY ID) or anyone else off the street and pay them crap and then hit their cusotmers w/ a high bill. So, they pay the contract workers crap and then say they are not responsible for their actions? I wonder what happens if the movers destroyed my antique furniture - would they say "We are not responsible - they are contractors! Too bad!"What a messed up company.Again, any mover going to a commercial building should know - especially in a post 9/11 world - that they will need an ID. Even the security guard at my building was shocked that these people didnt know that. Why should I take the hit for their F up?Lucinda had the nerve to try and put fault on the security at my office building for asking for such as thing as an ID, event though it was her contract worker he screwed up and messed up the whole move. I asked for an additional crew member but by that time it was too late. I needed to expedite to get things moving.I ended up having to help the one mover for fear of going over two hours and the second guy was useless. I told him I couldn't really help much b/c I have two bulging discs but out of desperation, I did more than I should have in terms of physical labor in order to get the job done in time. I guess I have to pitch in and do the move myself at Student Movers?! I work and pay them? F-d up.The older guy was a decent worker and professional while the younger guy should probably be fired. Not only useless but a bad attitude to boot. Although, the older guy did drop a box that I had written fragile all over it b/c I had computer equipment and a monitor in there. With my prodding and expediting, we made it in one hour and forty five minutes although this should have been done in one hour or so. I humbly have to say that I helped in getting it done in time. Not a good experience. I'm sure they pay their contract workers crap and their rates to consumers (such as me) aren't that great. Verdict: AVOID.

:( I'm warning you. if they break anything! IF THEY BREAK ANYTHING- Steven will make you feel worse! Their rating is 3 1/2 from 116 reviews because they may have lucked up on movers who don't rush and break your things. Lucky them. They rushed (I heard the main mover on phone telling someone that they will be there by 9, leaving exactly 2 hours for my move) didn't have tools (I walked around my apts. to ask to borrow tools which took about 15 mins that they still charged me for), I carried somethings out as well, they unloaded 99% of my things in the garage (did not ask were they went and told me the doors were small), broke my travertine top to my console (offered me 1 hour free for a travertine counter top), setup bed incorrectly (I have pictures showing gaps in screws and parts left at other location), general mananger offered $100 for top, but said he will try to work something out, Steven (customer service/assistant/claims person insists aggressively that I agreed on $100 and received settlement (so aggressively that when I'm begin to get upset with his tone he hung up in my face - 5 TIMES and refused to allow me to speak with manager. General manager called and I expressed willingness to report them to BBB and he said "let me explain something to you, you can call BBB" I then hung up. If I had enough money, I'll pay for your move before you use them.

David C. And Maucio were great! They showed up on time and worked extremely fast. We had all of our boxes stacked and ready for them. They arrived with a 24 ft trailer and 3 dolleys. We had originally scheduled for 2 hours but it ended up taking us about 3.5 due to the weather. This company was great to schedule with and very respectful. They were even nice to our dog even though he was barking a whole lot! The price is great and the workers are great too! Have no complaints. Nothing was broken. Would highly recommend using the company. They are total life savers!

Student movers made my already difficult task of moving an absolute nightmare. I'm taking the time write this review at 1am because I don't want anyone else to get screwed by this company like I did today. I scheduled my move over a month ago for this afternoon.  I was given an actual timeslot of 12-4pm and was told that they would try to accommodate my 11 AM move request due to my apartment loading dock closing at 4. I verified via email multiple times but they would be able to get there with plenty of time to use my loading dock and again and again they said that they would make sure that it would happen. In my confirmation call last night, I was told that I could call at 10 AM and get a estimate on the driver's estimated time of arrival at my apartment. When I made this call this morning, the woman I talked to said that she would call the driver and get right back to me. She said that the move before me was a quick move and that they probably will be there in the next hour or two. She also ensured me that my driver would call me when they are 45 minutes out. At 1 PM I had not heard anything from student movers, so I called again to see an estimated time of arrival and the same woman told me that she would reach out to the driver, which she apparently never did in the first place. At 3:45 PM I still had not heard back from this company so I called one more time. The same woman was extremely rude and lectured me that my timeslot was from 12 to 4 PM and that they had every right to show up anytime in there. However, when they're supposed to give you 45 minutes notice and there's only 15 minutes left in your time window, the self righteous customer service agent shouldn't be yelling at a customer when the company is at fault. She said again that she would call the driver and have them call me back, which I found out she never did the first two times. By 5 PM I still hadn't heard from them and my reservation for my apartment's moving platform had expired. So I have been waiting all day and it's the early evening and I have to get my stuff out of my apartment today. So, I ended up having to rent a uhaul at almost 7pm and move myself until 1am to get out of my unit in time because of the extreme lack of care that this company has for its customers. It wasn't until an hour after I canceled my move and reserved a uhaul that I ever heard from the driver and by that time I had no faith that they would even show up. I am so disappointed and angered by the service that I received today. I don't understand why they hire people to run the customer service who genuinely do not care about their customers and make that very clear in the way that they communicate. Student movers made my move a living nightmare and hope that other do not make the mistake that I did.
