If someone only answers the phone "moving company", DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE CON-ARTIST!!! If I could give zero stars I would! I am utterly disgusted w/ how this company can still be in business. I called & spoke w/ Jessica whom was friendly. I was glad they were able to do a last minute move request after calling quite a few other companies that could not. On my first call, Jessica stated there will be a 1 hour charge of $149 as a deposit which I agreed to. After receiving the quote confirmation and acknowledging it, my mom noticed that the "Deposit" turned into a "Service Charge". After calling back, I spoke w/ Jessica again whom claim she had her manager take off half and would only charge me $72. After reconsidering (feeling something wasn't right) & reading the reviews I had just found, I called back again to cancel. Now Jessica placed her manager, Ricky on the phone who tried to sell me a bill of goods, making all kinds of promises and sweet talking me. He said the reviews were not to his company but to a company with the same name & he was currently pursuing legal action to have them removed. He promised me that he will make sure all of my items were delivered and intact.  I still felt leery, but agreed to go through with it due to lack of other companies availability during the holiday weekend. He also promised that I could call him personally to cancel if I still felt uncomfortable later in the evening. After coming across more horrible reviews on another website, that named Ricky specifically and his con-artist tactics, I called back to cancel; however, I was dumbfounded that I could not get through. They blocked my number!!! I then called from my mom's phone. Jessica once again placed Ricky on the phone, after I told her $72 refund was unacceptable and I expect to receive all my money because no services was performed! Ricky then proceeded to threaten me that I signed the quote and they will not give me a full refund because I should have cancelled within 48 hours of the move request. It hadn't even been 24 hours since I placed the initial request, and that was not stated in the quote. After arguing back & forth, I eventually hung up & called my credit card company to dispute the charges. They are taking care of it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I used Houston First Movers and scheduled 2 weeks ahead for a Friday.  I was told they would be there between 8 and 10 - so 9:00 am.  They showed up at 4:15!  They will overcharge, so look out.  (I dealt with Ricky - don't!)  The mover in charge dragged his feet on purpose (I'm sure) so it would go to 3 hours.  Otherwise, I had no complaint against them.  They were very nice.

Houston First Movers is hands down the most unprofessional business I have ever seen. I had arranged for my stuff to be moved from Houston to another city 8 hours away and everything was supposed to arrive on Saturday at noon. However, the movers did not show up at the scheduled time and nobody would answer our calls or respond to our texts. So after 10 hours of waiting we finally got a hold of the owner who said that they hadn't even left Houston yet and weren't sure when they'd be able to. So at 10:00 PM I found out that I didn't even have a mattress to sleep on and had to arrange for a room at a nearby hotel.  The movers didn't end up showing up until Monday afternoon and they were very rude and unprofessional.So not only did I end up having to pay for the move, I also had to pay for 2 nights at a hotel and I missed a day of work. And there was absolutely zero communication on their end.PLEASE do not hire these guys, there are plenty of more professional companies in Houston that will actually follow through on getting you your stuff on time. If it was possible for me to give them 0.0 stars on here I would.

This business seems like a one crew show. This company was not dependable. Please go with anyone else. Their prices are comparable to all the other moving companies so really you are not missing out.... Go WITH ANOTHER COMPANY, seriously. Do not bother with this unprofessional company. We had a timeframe between 8-10 in the morning. I got a call from Ricky at 9AM saying his crew had a late move the day before and didn't get back until 4:30AM. He told me they would be 1 or 2 hours late... I said I understood. My family and I continued to move boxes and clothing and things we could still expecting he would show up... needless to say, you can read the quoted text messages below with typos and all... to make a long story short... he claims his crew was still sleeping... and then he lied at 11:56 stating his crew was getting ready.. then by 3:12pm he stated his crew woke up. I would have totally understood if he said early in the day, look I will make it today, but not until later afternoon. Will that be ok? I would have been amenable to that... I would have understood... I pretty sure he just double booked in case of a cancelation and didn't want to be honest about his shotty business practices... Me: 11:12: Ricky I'm checking on your crew. What time frame? Ricky: 11:22AM  "I'm Checking with them, Will let u know in a minute" Me:  11:55AM I replied with " Any word?"  Ricky: 11:56 They are getting ready. Me: 11:56 Timeframe? Ricky: 11:56 I'm sorry about that . I can't Forse them to be up, They needed some sleepMe: 11:57 Can you call me? Ricky: 11:57 Will call u in few minutes..........(meanwhile NO CALLL) Me: 12:34pm  text me when you're on wayRicky: 12:35pm Will do Me: 2:11pm  Ricky are your guys still going to make it? Ricky: I be honest with you u ms.  Still getting things together for the guys be up on the way for you. can I please have another hour to try making them on the truck? I will no give up to wake them up and keep rolling. The day is still long. or If possible to move at for tomorrow morning? I will take care of your bill as much as I can. I will not disappointed you, I promise that with all of my skills neededIt's happens before, when driving long distance things in the plan some time change without wanted or plannedI will do all it necessary at the moment can I help you with tomorrow morning other then trying so much? tomorrow will give me so much space to organize atMe: 2:22PM I need to be out today. Ricky: 2:23PM Ok understand Will call you the moment I get them on the way. Promise I'm on top of at. Ricky 3:12 pm Guys are up. Thanks God. On there's way nowMe 3:13 pm  Please cancel. This moving company started out great. Their secretary was incredibly nice and considerate. She set everything up and was extremely professional, she even let us pay by debit card. However, the day of the move the movers arrived three and a half hours late. When I called the owner to ask why they were so late he began to scream at me using choice words because he thought I was being "ungrateful". He then decided that our move had gone over on time, which it had not yet, demanded cash for the entire move, not just the overage of time. I tried to explain that he already had our payment via debit card. I even offered to pay the overage of time in cash. He seemed to think that a debit card and a credit card were the same thing and demanded cash even though they already had our full payment except the "overage of time". It was now almost midnight. He threatened to take the truck with our belongings back to the warehouse and charge us for storage. So we went to an ATM and pulled the cash. The movers did not speak English, so they could not write me a receipt. The company did refund the debit card eventually. The owner is extremely unprofessional, he screams and does not listen. I DO NOT recommend them.Also, the person who commented below, Ricky, is the "owner" who screamed and cursed at myself and my father in law.
