History

Established in 2008. Two Men and a Truck® started in the early 1980s as a way for two brothers to make extra money while they were in high school. Now, more than 30 years later, the company has grown to over 320 locations worldwide. Brothers Brig Sorber and Jon Sorber started moving people in the Lansing, Mich., area using an old pickup truck. Their mom, Mary Ellen Sheets, developed a logo to put in a weekly community newspaper. That stickmen logo still rests on every truck, sign, and advertisement three decades later.After the brothers left for college, Sheets continued to field calls for moving services while she also worked a full-time data processing job with the State of Michigan. In 1985, she decided to make things official by purchasing a 14-foot truck for $350 and hiring a pair of movers. That $350 is the only capital Sheets has ever invested in the company.

I used this company again in April 2016 and I should have went with someone else. When does it take all day and 1,300.00 for a company to move a one bedroom apartment when I'd already moved almost all my kitchen stuff, almost all my bedroom stuff and all they moved was a few odds and etc, washer, dryer, freezer, front room set, bedroom set, 2 bar stools and bar table?????Then they messed up a wall with my bedroom headboard, messed up 5 spots on a very expensive wood floor and several things "walked" out of my garage. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY OVERCHARGE, GO SLOW IN ORDER TO CHARGE MORE, THEY STOOD AROUND THE APARTMENT WHICH I PAID FOR, TORE UP FLOOR AND WALL, BROKE STUFF AND THINGS COME UP MISSING. THIS WAS MY FIRST MOVE IN OCTOBER 2015. I am updating my rating for this company to a 1. They broke a 200.00 lamp, which they took with them to get a replacement/re-imbursement. I have contacted them 3 times and they continue to ignore me. Just contact Freeds on the lamp price and pay me.Move For Free contacted me 2 months later and finally paid for my lamp.

Abel and Trayvon were phenomenal movers. They finished my three stop move in the minimum time window provided and everything went exactly where I needed it to. They were seriously amazing I would recommend TMAAT to anyone looking to make a local move. The rate was comparable to other companies I contacted considering we had a three stop move. I also liked that the company made it clear from the first phone call that all of their employees were employees not day laborers, so I knew the movers took pride in their work.

Fabulous from start to finish! The Carrollton office ROCKS! I was taken care of from the first phone call and the team there is so on top of things. Christi Ward and Vermain Howard in the Carrollton office were beyond AMAZING! They made sure everything was going to be taken care of and went above and beyond for us. Gold star employees!!! The two guys, Mike Williams and Geary McNiel from California were sent to move us and were the hardest workers we've ever seen. AWESOME guys with such GREAT attitudes, worked crazy hard, cared for our belongings & kept the pace all day long!! Really nice guys, even made moving enjoyable! I was so grateful for the "full team" that helped in our move to Oklahoma, they relieved me of a lot of extra stress and I'm 1000% thrilled with the service I received.
