History

Established in 2008. Two Men and a Truck® started in the early 1980s as a way for two brothers to make extra money while they were in high school. Now, more than 30 years later, the company has grown to over 320 locations worldwide. Brothers Brig Sorber and Jon Sorber started moving people in the Lansing, Mich., area using an old pickup truck. Their mom, Mary Ellen Sheets, developed a logo to put in a weekly community newspaper. That stickmen logo still rests on every truck, sign, and advertisement three decades later.After the brothers left for college, Sheets continued to field calls for moving services while she also worked a full-time data processing job with the State of Michigan. In 1985, she decided to make things official by purchasing a 14-foot truck for $350 and hiring a pair of movers. That $350 is the only capital Sheets has ever invested in the company.

What they don't steal, they break. The truck that showed up for my move was old, multi-colored with spray paint, and the workers appeared to have recently been released from prison. Covered in horrible looking tattoos and I think one had a few teeth. When I contacted the company about the stolen items I was told they hire contractors and then claimed they had no way to identify which ones had moved my items. Therefore, making it impossible for me to file a police report. Beware!

I currently work for the Two Men and a Truck in the Carrollton office. The employees are great to work with and fun to be around. Ever since I've started at this location I have enjoyed my time here. I've learned so much from them on the moving aspect as well as a sales rep. I would highly recommend this company either to work for or to hire as movers to move your items!

This was absolutely the most expensive move I have ever had by a long shot. I had my stuff moved from my two bedroom ground floor/two level unit into a drive up, ground floor storage unit. It was $621!!!! I was already a little concerned about the price because it was 3.5 hours - then they tacked on a $139 "transportation fee" to the end. And you know what? I still tipped the movers because they were outstanding! They were courteous, took great care of my property and they had wonderful attitudes - with everyone. That being said, this week I will move my stuff from the storage unit to my third floor walk up unit and the 4 hour quote including transportation fee and stair fee is $304. Despite the awesome movers, I will never use Two Men and a Truck again. Nor will I recommend them.

I in no way could recommend Two Men nd a Truck. We used them to move from one apartment to another in the same complex, they did show up on time and with 4 guys which we though was great ,get it done quickly. Bust after they had gone we could not fine an IPad and an IPad mini, we search every place in both apartments. neither my wife or I saw anybody take them they are just gone and the only people in the apartment were Myself my wife and the crew from Two Men and a truck. I contacted the Office and talked to a supervisor who said he would talk to the guys that moved me and call me back, he did call back to inform me that 2 of the guys from the crew had quit, which he said was not uncommon in this industry. I filed a police report and contacted the supervisor several time but quit when I could see that they would not compensate me unless we could prove that someone in on that crew took them, of course we cannot because neither of us saw them take the items so we can not prove that they did. We are out 2 I pads,, in my opinion I don't believe two men and a truck is as safe and professional as advertised, so in my opinion use them at your own risk.
