Moving to another state is never easy, and Element Moving unfortunately made it even more of a headache. My dad put his cell phone number on the form and told the movers to call his cell phone because our home phone would be disconnected since they were moving to a different state. When the movers got to our new state, they were super late because they kept calling the home phone, not the cell phone, and they blamed my dad for it! Not only were they incredibly late to drop off, but several of our items were broken. Two of our dining chairs were broken. Solid wood just totally broken. Our dresser was cracked, scratched, and the wooden decoration on the front was broken off. Our 500 pound wooden armoire's door was broken off completely. A few of the movers were rude to us. One even tossed the plastic and tape that covered the items on the floor of our home, telling us it's not his responsibility to throw it away. Getting in touch with them is a huge hassle. We finally got our claim resolved and the check sent to us, but we had to check in on them several times to get our claim moved. I think this company means well, but they don't follow through at all.

**Do Not Use Element Moving**I recently moved from Dallas, TX to Madison, WI, and I hired Element Moving & Storage to move my belongings based on the positive Angie's List ratings. Initially, their service was great. My sales associate, Kyle, was thorough and professional. I received advanced notice before pick-up and the crew showed up within the given time frame. I had a few things set aside that were not meant to be moved that went missing. I called the driver the next day inquiring about them, and the driver assured me that they were likely accidentally packed and they would arrive at my destination. They never arrived.I had different movers that arrived in Madison. Neither of the two guys had on Element shirts, and they told me they were not employees of Element. They were unprofessional, initially showing up on the first day unannounced, then leaving because they weren't comfortable with the truck on the street. They said they would be back the following day with a smaller truck, they never came. The third day, they said they would arrive between noon-4 p.m., they showed up at 9 p.m. They didn't bring any dollies and they asked me for tools. Had it not been for me finding carts in the mail room, the move would have taken twice as long. I witnessed one of my fragile boxes being thrown from the truck to the ground. I pointed it out, and the driver brushed it off and said it accidentally fell from the truck. There was no concern in how they handled any of my boxes. Boxes clearly marked FRAGILE, THIS SIDE UP, were placed upside down with heavier items placed on top of them. My large living room mirror was blanket wrapped, but they didn't wrap the back of the mirror, leaving it exposed. The back was punctured and damaged the glass! After asking me for tools to put the bedroom set together, one of the movers said he wasn't sure how to assemble the bed. He then gave up and said that it was impossible because they had damaged the wood frame of the bed during the move! So, I finally get my items and I can't even sleep on my own bed! He was so anxious to get out of there, I had to stop him and tell him to take the mattress out of the wood crating and to install the mirror on the dresser. There were also several items from my inventory list missing. They urged me to pay and told me to call Element (which had already closed because it was 2:00 a.m.). The next day, I opened one of my boxes marked fragile and the contents were completely smashed due to the negligence!I called Cynthia at Element in customer service on the first available business day. She had previously been very responsive and cooperative. But this time, she admitted that she did not read my email, did not want to hear about what happened and that I should just go online and fill out a claim form. She was very short and I could tell she wanted to just get me off the phone. Let's hope whoever is managing their claims department will quickly resolve and reimburse me for all of my personal belongings they have destroyed and lost. This is NOT how I wanted to start this new chapter in my life, I had high hopes for Element, but their operations are TERRIBLE. Missing Items. Broken Items. Awful delivery crew and bad customer service when it matters the most! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I will also be posting on Angie's List, because they do no deserve the high rating they have on there.

I can't comment yet on the movers themselves as they have still yet to arrive, but the customer service so far is absolute s*** . The stars to cover swear words are the only ones I'd award them if I had the choice. They were supposed to be here at 8 am to move my mom but called thirty minutes prior to state "someone had called in" and that they would arrive between 11:30 and 12. It's now almost 1:30 and after being hung up on after the girls in the office realized they accidentally answered the phone while gossiping, then ignored, referred to the incorrect person, and then told they were fifteen minutes away AN HOUR AGO any sympathy we had for them losing an employee is gone. People make appointments for a reason. Needless to say, I'm livid. Fingers crossed the movers will do a good job... if we ever see them.

I had a fantastic experience with every member of the element team for my "semi-local" move (Dallas to Waco.)  Since I was moving within a reasonable radius of Dallas, Element team members handled my move start to finish.  (In reading some of the other reviews, it seems that individuals are disappointed with services at their DESTINATION and are taking it out on Element, a DFW based company.  It's common for local companies in one area to contract with other local companies at the destination to handle delivery when they don't have employees located at the destination.)  Beginning with Lisa, who provided our original quote, she was friendly, personable and professional...plus she helped us coordinate some complicated logistics as we were also shipping items to our daughter in another state.  Then Luis, the operations manager, helped a team begin the packing process.  (I learned later that the original crew foreman was injured, so Luis jumped in, on a Sunday no less, to fill in so that our move wouldn't be delayed.)  The loading and delivery day were coordinated by foreman George, with a rotating team that included Juan Carlos, Roberto, Richard and Nicholas.  The reason I can list each team member by name? Because I was so impressed by their great attitudes, even when they had to put in a very LONG day and they didn't slow down the entire time they were packing, loading or unloading.  Our move wasn't easy, some LARGE pieces to move plus a lot of accessories and decor to pack.  I can't say enough positives about Element and how they handled an extremely stressful move and made it easier.  If you are in doubt, read the other reviews closely...while every company makes a misstep now and then, I believe if you read the reviews closely you will see that most of the bad reviews for Element involve long distance moves handled by other carriers.  I had a GREAT experience, and would definitely use them again.

Other than having my date being moved to 1 day later with no real explanation. Element's was great... Movers were fast & efficient & loved the fact that we were visited by a manager at our home to follow up on our move & if we were satisfied. Overall will definitely recommend & use again.
