Around The Block Moving

Please do not use this company; you just cannot rely on them and they are very unprofessional.  I had a reservation for 12-1, but they just did not show. I called and Suzette said the office forgot to write it down, and had me at 3-4.  Around 2 o'clock, Suzette said actually it would not be until 5-6.  That would not work for us, so they rescheduled for 8-9am the next day.  But they did not show. I waited for an hour again before calling. Suzette said she did not know, but would get back to me.  I called again 1hr later and she said they wouldn't work in the rain.   10  moving companies in Dallas all told me they were working in the rain, and some even suspected Around the Block was jerking me around.  I would have loved to go with those companies, but because of the late notice, they were all booked. People who are moving depend on moving companies to keep their word. My whole family had to rearrange my Mother's birthday plans, dentist appointments, and so many other things because of how ATB kept changing the time on us.  It is inexcusable.

Initial impression with this company was fantastic. They were extremely friendly on the phone. Suziette who booked me was extremely friendly and accommodating. The process of booking was a breeze. When it came to moving day it was a different story. I was scheduled to move between 12 and 1. 1 O'Clock came and I still had not heard anything. I had to reach out to them to get a status. Unfortunately the office isn't in contact with the drivers. The driver finally called me around 1:45 saying they wouldn't be there until 2:30. However they had a blowout on the highway, which is unfortunate, however the lack of empathy by management is even more unfortunate. They declined my request for a discount for inconvenience and management refused to speak to me putting Suziette in an awful position. The refused to adjust their schedules to accommodate, instead they just told me I'd have to wait until they could get to me and gave me an ETA of 5pm. Managements refusal to offer an concession as well as their refusal to speak directly to me is inexcusable. I called another company and they were able to accommodate me on their schedule at 4pm. The management team here needs to remember what it is like to be a customer, maybe then their customer service will improve to a serviceable level.

So glad I chose ATB to help with our move. Everything from start to finish went smooth. Suzette provided great customer service and the moving crew ( which consisted of Sean and another gentleman ) were prompt and courteous. It was a very hot summer day in August and I never heard one complaint from either one of them. I 100% recommend this company and will definitely be using them again for my next move.

Our move happened back in August, and I feel terrible for forgetting to write about my wonderful experience until now. Their central office could not reach the guy that was supposed to help us with our move (into a one bedroom apartment in Uptown), so it looked like we were going to be unable to get our move done that day. But thankfully, ROBERT and FREDDY came around 5:00 (as they were supposed to be getting off work, mind you) and in addition to being unbelievably efficient with the job, were as nice and professional as could be, too. Their friendliness was in spite of the fact that Robert had been pulling into his driveway well north of town when he got the call, and turned right around and came to help us. When it was over, they were very fair with the price, and even sent me some drink coupons as an apology for the first guy not showing up. Thanks to Robert and Freddy, though, no apology was in order, and they are the only moving service I will ever use here!Earlier in the day, we were all furious, but because of Robert and Freddy, we became VERY satisfied customers! 5 stars!
