Adelphia Moving

This was the first time in 20 years that I have hired professional movers, but moving just got to be too big of a job for my husband and I. In trying to do my due diligence, I read reviews of movers showing up "late", taking multiple breaks, wasting time, taking 45 minutes to go around the block to the final moving destination, etc. I also saw an ad on Craigslist with a scary-looking dude in tattoos which proposed that "this" was the guy who "could show up for your move". (The stereotype was interesting!) Needless to say, I had a bunch of ideas as to who might be knocking at my door to move my precious things. The guys (Ray, Jim and Jim) that represented Adelphia Moving were first-class - and I am not often the easiest person to get a compliment from. And they weren't just guys - they were gentlemen (that's for the ladies who may read this!). Moving is no easy task, and we had way more stuff than I thought (which has led me to curb my shopping habits), but these guys hustled like I have never seen. I had been ready for the move for days, but there are always last minute items that you save until last because you are using them. Apparently, it takes a lot of time to pack up those "last minute" items, and I swear I thought that they would move everything out before I could get the last items in the last few boxes!PROS:These guys showed up on time, they worked like crazy until the last box was moved (what do they eat for breakfast?!), they were professional and respectful of me, my things and TIME, and they didn't dawdle in reaching the final destination!They also didn't nickel and dime me with the charges - the time estimated was pretty much the time spent. (It's not their fault I had more stuff than we all thought.) There were no hidden charges - what they quoted was what they charged.CONS: We didn't all go out for a beer afterwards. (I should have asked!)I waited to write this review because although our furniture was wrapped well, I wanted to ensure everything was intact. They took care of each piece that they moved, and each piece of furniture ranged in cost from $20 to $1000. I probably could have not wrapped anything and everything would have been fine! Although I was running on fumes for sleep, these guys made moving the most fun and the most comfortable experience. I literally felt like I had known them for years! However, I did have about 25 boxes that I moved myself that were ceramic cats, pictures, lamps, etc, and one gentleman continued to insist that he carry those boxes out to the car for me! I really just needed them to do the heavy lifting, and I think they wanted me to stop helping them. In fact, I was told I was "forbidden" to move any more furniture and boxes! (I just can't stand around and watch, though...I always have to help!) I don't know how they do it, but they make moving a pleasure!All in all, it was a wonderful experience, and Dave really came through for me when I had some difficulties scheduling the move. This is something I will never forget. Without ANY hesitation, I would recommend Adelphia Moving ten times over.

Awful. The crew man-handled possessions and furniture. They damaged walls and doors. They damaged a brand new refrigerator. The owner/manager was belligerent and refused to accept responsibility for his crew's actions. Worst of all, their insurance still has yet to pay our claim and being its been 9 months, I doubt they ever will. Looks like we will have to take them to court. If your possessions are generally not worth much, maybe Adelphia might work for your move. But be warned they'll leave the property damaged and it's clear this business doesn't stand by its work. If you have anything you don't want damaged, then you should stay clear of this moving company!Re Dave's comment below; I am not an ex-employee with an axe to grind. I am an ex-customer who was treated poorly-as you too will be. If Dave had any interest in taking responsibility for his business and his crew, he would have inquired as to my issues rather than concocting a story of a disgruntled employee. But Dave has no interest in that. It is far easier to claim, falsely, that someone is a disgruntled employee and a review is a fake. See, Dave evidently thinks it is easier to lie to Yelpers about any bad reviews. He thinks you won't notice my 360+ reviews, or that I have been using Yelp for more than 8 years. Nor does he think you'll notice I was Elite for most of those years. Don't worry Dave, I'll be happy to add a photo of the receipt which shows I'm no ex-employee. It  acknowledges the damages that were done and this acknowledgement is signed by your crew foreman . Can't wait for your comment on that Dave.Oh, and thanks for mentioning Angie's List Dave, because while I did review you on ThumbTack (which verifies customer reviews), I forgot to do so on Angie's List. So there's another thing you can look forward to Dave.

We used Adelphia on Feb. 18, 2017, and they couldn't have been nicer. They arrived on time, gave us a fully day of moving, never stopped once, and got us from a house in Philly to an apartment in Delaware, in under 5 hours (with travel time!) I will recommend them and would use them again.It's nice to have a company you can trust.

We moved from an apartment in Fort Washington to a townhouse in Horsham. It was far from where they are to travel out to us so they were a little late but as soon as they arrived, they got right to work and did a great job. 2 guys came out, Phil and (I am sorry, but I forgot the other guys name). They were professional and very friendly. They explained everything when they started and when they finished to go over the cost.  No overcharging or funny business. I'm hoping we won't have to move again any soon, but if we do, we know who to hire!

Hired company for move on 8/27. Booking the move was super easy and they offered a great quote for the move. They were up front on the charges and everything was based on a simple hourly which made planning easier. There was a slight hiccup on move day when they showed up late and to a different address then I discussed the night before, BUT it's hard to hold that against them when they showed up with 3 guys instead of the 2 I booked and all the guys were super professional and handled our stuff with great care. Moved all the way from Huntingdon Valley to Lansdale and everything was completed in under 4 hours.  Couldn't have been happier with the way they got everything done, would definitely recommend and hire again.
