My email to salesperson after our chat:Jordan, I have done some research after our phone call today and what I found is quite concerning:First, the government website protectmymove.org says "don't even consider companies that bid jobs site unseen." In fact, your quote says, "Please note that the inventory items listed below are not guaranteed volume (cubic feet) accuracy unless an onsite visual estimate was performed." Were you planning to send someone to my apartment to set up an accurate quote based on my actual inventory?Secondly, an article on moving scams in the AARP magazine, aarp.org/money/scams-fra…, says don't book with anyone whose website does not list registration and insurance info. Yours does not. Also, your USDOT and MC# appears fraudulent as that number is listed to a moving company with a completely different name and location: ALL IN THE FAMILY MOVING AND STORAGE NE INC  in Pennsylvania. If you had been around as long as you said you have, it's strange you'd want to lose that recognition by changing your name. Oh, wait, I know - it's because you have an F RATING AT THE BBB with this name! bbb.org/washington-dc-ea…Thirdly, the AARP says I should not be putting down a large deposit before delivery because this is a red flag for a scam. You asked for almost 50% to hold the space.Next, your company's MC # is not listed as a vetted company on the trade industry website, moving.org, recommended by the government and the AARP.Also, your reviews on Yelp are HORRIBLE. yelp.com/biz/able-moving…. Apparently, you offer no way to contact the movers mid-move and purposely underbid, among other things.Lastly, the quote you gave me above is quite different from what you told me on the phone, which raised my hackles. You suggested 20 boxes when moving.org and other websites suggest closer to 50. It was also suspicious that you told me a truck was already heading toward Grand Rapids and would be arriving by June 12 but that you also said my items would be stored in Florida for a month if needed. So, that story about a truck already going way sounds like a story you say to everyone to throw off suspicion about a lower price.When I asked if there were any additional fees, you didn't mention stairs or elevator fees. I live in a 2nd story walk-up now with 16 steps and will moving into the third floor of a building with an elevator. How will this affect the pricing?You also didn't mention the "long carry". Will you be going to the two locations to give me a specific price on how long the carry is or were you planning to have me find that out on moving day?You also did not mention packing the TV or glass would be extra. Your quote doesn't even give a pricing for how much extra that is. That sounds like a unabashed scam.You verified with me SEVERAL times over the phone that ALL packing material was included when I questioned it. The quote specifically lists this as NOT being included now in two different places, including, "Note: Packing supplies are not included in the transportation cost and will be charged if required."Despite what you promised about the delivery date, your contract reads MUCH differently. I have no plans to wait THIRTY DAYS for arrival of my promised goods. "Pickup and delivery dates are not guaranteed unless the optional Premium Guaranteed Service (P.G.S.) is purchased. Standard Service (S.S.) period is up to a maximum of thirty business weekdays, not including storage time, beginning on the first date indicated as available for delivery (not the date of pickup). The date indicated as "1st available for delivery" is first date of the delivery window and not the promised delivery date. Able Moving Corp estimated delivery period is up to thirty business days from date indicated as first available for delivery."This is the shadiest part of all: "If a lawsuit becomes necessary to resolve any dispute between Able Moving Corp and shipper, said suit shall and must only be brought in circuit or county court in and for Denver County, Colorado." I have to travel to COLORADO, where your business is not even located and nowhere near the site of the transaction, to seek justice????????And the contract is asking me to sign something I most definitely have not received: "NOTE: Customer has agreed to receive and subsequently received the FMCSA publications "Ready to Move? - Tips for a Successful Interstate Move" and "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move" via e-mail hyperlink and accessed the Federal consumer protection information in the Internet."Jordan texted me back to say that I "needed help."

The worst moving experience ever. I really thought i would never see my belongings again. Locked me in on a quote.  Tried to triple the price once my stuff was loaded on the truck. Asked for 70 % of the balance before leaving. Force you to sign paperwork because you want your things in transit. Then asked for 70% of remaining balance before they would commit to delivery....but you have to make a deposit to their bank account.  By the way , don't try to call them. None of the numbers will connect you to them. Just the hired help they have field the calls only.   Let's not forget they add on using their materials to pack i.e. Blankets tape  which was told was included.  Finally, I tell then I live on the second floor he tells me we only cover 7 steps per flight ...any more steps after that will cost you $250 ?? The f**k??!? I swear I was expecting Ashton Kutcher to hop out the back of the truck and say I got punked.  You can't make this up.  What a racket. I hope this is the right Able.  My invoice had one number.  My moving invoice had another number.  Then to top it off the driver walks out with my apple I had on my counter .

Don't make the same mistake I made. Avoid Jordan. Pay attention to the transportation fee. They charged me 2000, which I was told by others that it is usually like 250-500. Also pay attention to their location, it is Chicago not the other one, Kansas.

I'm just going to second the other 1 star reviews here instead of telling you MY Able Moving story. They WILL steal your deposit, they WILL steal your things and they will NEVER answer your calls. Please don't do business with this company UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. They are contracted through WORLD WIDE VANS, the shell company that will contract Able to move your things and then triple the price. If you're short on cash (like we were) trust me, you will spend 200% more with this scam company. PM me if you need full details.We ignored the warnings, partially because some non-yelp reviews we saw were almost illiterate so we didn't believe it. BELIEVE THIS. Worst experience of our lives. Feel free to call TRACIE TERMAN at Able moving 773-290-6922. If Able is not answering, try that number. Worst human being on the planet.You can also file a complaint with Move Rescue, moverescue.comTO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE FEDERAL MOTOR CARRIER ASSOCIATION: nccdb.fmcsa.dot.govPlease file, this is the only way to really bring them down.
