NorthStar is seriously amazing!  I called to set up a move from Russian Hill and got a received a quite soon after. On move day I was nervous because I was running late.  I hadn't finished packing.  The crew came promptly after proving me with a one hour warning.  They were eager to help and my stressful prep ended up becoming my most pleasant move to date.  Thank you!  My friends will also thank you NorthStar--because they usually end up rescuing me from horrible moves due to poor time management.My new furniture was cautiously dissembled, my pricey kitchenware wrapped with love and I had friendly company.Omg thanks so much NorthStar.  For the amount of sweat and care if my items, the pricing is excellent.  And they are quick!  They helped me finish packing and cleared and packed one bedroom in less than an hour!  I won't even consider another company in the future.  Lifetime customer!!

Just had the most amazing moving experience with Nelson, Carlos, Isael and Rodolfo. They moved us from SF to the burbs in record time, packed everything flawlessly, moved all my kids gear with a smile and demonstrated impeccable customer service in every way. This is my second move with Northstar and I'll never use anyone else!They arrived early and were cheaper than the quote. Doesn't get any better than that!

The 3 guys who moved us were nice, but a bit careless.- They gouged a chunk out of our wood hutch and damaged our wood door frame. - They left one of our pieces of furniture on the truck and we had to call them to get it delivered 2 days later. - They left 2 wardrobe boxes, moving towels, and moving tape at our new house.(Will add photos later)

This is the second time we're using these guys for our local move and much like the first time around, the process was quick and efficient. They're extremely professional and the move couldn't have been more seamless.The team showed up right on time and were quick to the task. They did a quick inventory of all of our goods and even helped ensure our items were packed best to withstand the trip. The team was careful not to scuff either our apartment walls or our items. We'll continue to use these movers for all of our upcoming moves. We highly recommend them!!!

I would not recommend NorthStar for a long distance move. I've moved long distance three times, and this is by far the worst experience I've had. The only positive part about my experience was the pick up. The team was professional and packed my items with care. The delivery experience, however, was an absolute nightmare. Toward the end of my 3 week delivery window, I received a call on a Monday evening at 9:30pm EST from a gentleman who hardly spoke English. Not expecting a call from an unknown number, I hung up. I then received a text message saying "This moving guys. We bring your stuff tomorrow between 4 and 6. Thanks." Um are you kidding me? I called the gentleman back (yes, at 9:45pm) and asked for more information. He informed me he would be coming the next day in his 18-wheeler. I told him that would not be possible at my delivery location, and he would have to bring a smaller truck. He told me that would not be a problem, but I would have to incur an additional $600 fee for a smaller shuttle truck. I couldn't believe it. I was absolutely flabbergasted. I looked back at my receipt and saw that there is a fee for requiring a shuttle truck, but it was only $275. The next morning, I received a call that they could not in fact come that day and would have to come on Wednesday. At this point, I had reserved my building's loading dock and elevator. To add insult to injury, I had to cancel a work trip in order to be present for my delivery. Talk about inconveniencing me. On Wednesday, when they arrived (they did arrive on time, I'll give them that), I was shocked to find two gentlemen who very well could have been picked up off the street delivering my items. When I was packed, the movers had on branded shirts and looked professional. The lead of the two man team then told me they could not accept credit card as a form of payment even though I had been assured they could. This actually delayed delivery of my items to my apartment by an hour while he took a phone call to inform him that he could, in fact, take a credit card from me.My items were moved in, and a few of my items were broken. Most notably, the leg of my antique desk was torn off somewhere in transport. (see photo) This desk is irreplaceable and the company is no longer in business. Furthermore, the team refused to unroll my rug. I called the moving company multiple times during delivery and the dispatcher, Stephanie, was very pleasant. What was so unfortunate was that these two guys did not follow whatever protocol Northstar has, which caused delays. The process for filing claims on my damaged items was pretty straight forward, but I was disappointed regarding the payment for my desk. In my opinion, the company should pay, in full, for the pick up and restoration of that item. I suppose if this had been a local move, I would have had a more positive experience, but I will never use this company again.
