History

Established in 2007. Route 66 Moving started in San Diego and San Francisco doing just local moves. Getting more and more repeat and referral customers we started to do long distance moves between San Diego and San Francisco Bay Area. Being able to provide non markup labor at the pickup and delivery locations made our service much more affordable than other movers'. The volume of our long distance moves increased which gave us an opportunity to work with any budget and specific needs.In 2013 we leased a 5000 sq. ft. warehouse in Miramar area in San Diego and started to provide storage service for our local and long distance valued customers. This was very helpful for our customers who are moving to San Francisco since most of them needed to store their furniture and boxes until they find a place in Bay Area. In 2014 we opened another location, Los Angeles. Now we can proudly say that our long distance moving service covers ALL California and local covers San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

I just had a move completed by Route 66 Moving today from San Diego to the Bay Area, and this company was pleasant to work with every step of the way. Requesting a quote online was easy and Natalie (the manager?) got back to me very quickly by email or phone every time I had a question. I will say that it is very important to give a complete inventory list to receive a correct quote. After updating my inventory list from my initial estimate to the complete inventory, my quote went up about $500. I still think that the price we paid was great as we have a ton of stuff for a 1 bedroom apartment. The provided wardrobe boxes were an amazing perk and made clothes packing so much easier. The movers in San Diego arrived on time and worked hard to perfectly wrap all of our furniture and load carefully. The only issue I had with this company was the friendliness/professionalism of the two movers in San Diego - they would barely talk to me from the moment I let them in, but as soon as my husband arrived they were extremely friendly, introducing themselves and shaking his hand. They then proceeded to direct all questions to my husband even though I was arguably more accessible when they were there. Not a huge deal but it did put me off a little bit. The movers in the Bay Area (San Leandro to be specific) arrived promptly, and worked very hard and fast to unload and unwrap all of our stuff, placing furniture where we wanted and even offering to help put together a few larger items before they went. I haven't noticed any damage to any furniture or to any doorways, etc that they went through. The movers tended to completely disregard "fragile stickers" - I had to rescue a box of china (marked as such in addition to about 50 fragile stickers) from under 4 boxes of books. Annoying, but everything is okay and nothing was broken. Two glass tables and two large fish tanks came through the move in perfect condition. The part that made me the happiest - what we payed at the end was exactly what we were quoted before booking. No surprises! In a few years when I head back to Socal I can definitely see myself using the comopany again.

Moving is stressful! Especially when your new home is quite ready and it's Father's Day. Well as my Father's Day present my better half hired Route 66 Moving Company. She found them on Yelp and I read the reviews. I saw reviews mention Randy, Tyrece and Sergi and how great they are. Well they were the team that showed up at my home. Let me tell you work hard is an understatement. It was 98 degrees in Murrieta for the pack in. These three were the utmost professionals, took care of our stuff, and were off and running and worked their asses off. I was stressed we have so much "stuff" that it all wouldn't fit on the truck. They are the masters at packing everything right and protecting our "stuff". They even got my oversized massage chair down the stairs and out the door without a scratch. Once we arrived at the new house they unpacked as quickly as they packed. We had to put everything into the garage because all of our flooring is not in yet. They expertly packed it in and made it fit leaving us access to everything. Tyrece even showed me a loose part on my dresser where the foot screws in sink could fix it. Great team!! Great moving company!!! Thank you guys!!!
