I wanted to book a Upack Relocube for long distance moving. They were helpful on the phone (they actually picked up the phone unlike some other movers who would never pick up or return my calls) and offered much faster speeds than other companies. They were able to do 6-8 business days for a cross-country move, and other boxes/pods movers were saying it would need 3 weeks because the box would have to sit at the terminals for 1-2 days on either side of pick-up/delivery. Upack did not seem to have these additional, and unnecessary, buffers in place. They gave me a 3 day window in which my box would arrive at the final destination. I thought this was excellent, compared to other companies!One downside is that at the end of my first phone call, I found out they could not deliver to my street. They have a very long flat bed truck in which they deliver the boxes, and they said it would be difficult to turn down my street. I offered to take measurements and pictures of the area, to give them a better idea beyond what they could view in google maps, but they seemed sure that my street was inaccessible. I called back a second time with a new plan, where I asked them to drop the box off a 1/2 block away on a larger street. I figured I would have to move my furniture and boxes farther to load up the box, but it was worth the speed of delivery they were offering.I still need to check if there are any permits required for keeping the box in a street parking metered space.

Very accommodating and helpful in planning and delivery.  Only issue was the trailer was not really clean when it was delivered for loading.

Upack is a great company to deal with! We had to move our 3 bedroom house worth of stuff out of state, and even the biggest uhaul truck wouldn't cut it. We researched movers for weeks, until finding upack. They were not only the best option, but the cheapest. We had them drop off a trailer to our house, and we hired some local movers to "Tetris" fit all our boxes and furniture and whatnot into the trailer (they were great too, review for them coming soon) and we got most of our stuff in there. We couldn't get it all because of short notice and the fact that we couldn't pack everything fast enough due to injury. But upack let us come a few days later to their pacoima facility with a small uhaul and finish loading the trailer! They even put up the ramp & bulkhead for us. Lonnie at the facility was really helpful and every time we called everyone was nice and helpful. Even the driver that came to pick up the trailer from our house was a great guy. We highly recommend this company if you have a lot of stuff to move, and need to go far. The only consideration is it might take a few days longer, but it's worth it, and in our case was good because we needed some time to prep the new house for our stuff anyway. So on the pros - the rate were the lowest by far, the transit time very quick and everything came out in reasonable shape. The huge huge con is that after very carefully pointing out at the time of booking that I lived in Topanga up a very narrow steep road and a steep drive - and I was promised they could get up the drive - on the day the trailer was supposed to turn up the "local" guys refused to come up the road when they were already an hour late.  Now after frantic panicking, my local movers managed to get a 26 ft truck up my road and drive (still not at all convinced the U-Pack was going to have that much trouble) - and we swapped to a terminal load and the difference between the reduced transit cost and increased moving guy cost was a wash. But an awful lot of drama and a very long day.  So I would highly recommend asking for the phone number of the local guys and triple checking they can deliver to your house.

We had a mixup in places to drop my pod off and there wasnt a spot available. Rather than leave me hanging, the guy to who helped drop off my stuff in Anchorage helped me unload the entire truck next to my apartment so I didnt have to pay fees and have my stuff come back another day. Volunteered to do so without me asking and actually called his boss for permission. I dont write a lot of reviews, but that is customer service.
