Yelpers, don't listen to the reviews from last year.  As I understand it Sunshine boys used a poor subcontractor, they have wholly refined their ways and are a very professional company.  We had Joe setup a sort of complicated multi-pickup move over about 100 miles.  They called a couple days before,  the day before, and the day of the move.  They were fantastic, Ron was our foreman and Jesse and Efraim helped.  They worked very quickly helped us with things outside of just a regular mover and were so easy to communicate with.  Ron especially was tremendously helpful and my wife and I truly appreciate he and his team's hard work.  I highly recommend them wholeheartedly.  Pay cash and please take care of your movers, they do something none of us want to do.

I've used the sunshine boys twice now and both times were exceptional. We had Sergio for both moves as well as Conrad and Izzy most recently. The guys were prompt, efficient and nice. They packed up the few remaining items we had left to pack safely and effectively. Everything made it to the new house in one piece.Since our first move with SB, we had a few things stored in a vault, including a stainless steel fridge - the guys brought our items with them and moved it all into the new house. They went out of their way. To make sure our fridge got safely upstairs and put the existing fridge in the garage. Both sets of doors had to be removed and reinstalled. You could tell they knew exactly what they were doing.They actually are priced really fair and don't overcharge for packing materials. They don't charge you for anything they can reuse. One reviewer also mentioned a contract- they have one they bring with them and fill out on site. It's a carbon copy form, so they probably don't email it.Overall, a great job and would definitely use them again.

Sunshine Boys Moving lost all of my property due to subcontracting with another fraudulent moving company that has since gone out of business. They did offer to reimburse me, but only for $1700 after months of having me meticulously inventory every piece of property I owned (which greatly exceeds $1700 in monetary, not to mention personal value).This all started when I took a job in Seattle for a company called IOActive. About a week before I was to move, IOActive's David Baker called me pleading with me to move there in 3 days by promising to take care of moving my property for me and covering the cost. The week that my property was to arrive in Seattle I kept getting the run-around by Sunshine who first claimed that  there was a slight delay, which changed to the property being accidentally shipped back east and then finally they have no idea where my property was. After about a month of searching for the lost property, Sunshine Boys Moving finally decided it was no longer worth searching for and asked me to complete an entire inventory of my property. They also informed me that they subcontracted this to a fraudulent moving company called Mainline Moving. After doing some research, Mainline Moving has been under several different company names after being sued several different times. At this point IOActive assured me they would make sure I was taken care of and placed their attorney on the case. Sunshine had agreed that once I completed the inventory list they would settle by paying me in full for the cost for my lost property due to their negligence in hiring such a fraudulent company in the first place. After coming up with a complete list of all of my lost property and having lawyers go back and forth about it I was told by IOActive's lawyer that in 60 days I would receive a check, but in 60 days I received absolutely nothing. Another 60 days later, I had still not received any further assistance from neither IOActive nor Sunshine Moving. At this point, I had been without all my possessions, including clothing, bed, etc for over a half a year. I had to pay out of pocket to re purchase basic living needs, which was quite costly. The lack of support from my newly employed lead to a decision to depart from the company. This ultimately resulted in IOActive completely removing their legal support for the case, although they were responsible for hiring Sunshine Moving in the first place, which resulted in a loss of nearly all my earthly possessions.As a word of caution, do not hire Sunshine Boys Moving to move your property and do not work with or for IOActive as both parties are deeply unprofessional in their actions and callous in their behavior towards their customers and staff.

I'm really surprised to see everyone's thoughts on them. We have used them twice (2010 & 2011) and both times the service was flawless. The first time was from a 2-story condo to a 3-story condo, and they moved every last piece up 2-flights of stairs without a scratch. They were finished in less than 5 hours from loading the old apartment and leaving the new condo, and the price was $500. The second time they moved us from the condo to a house, and once again it was great. I didn't lift a finger. The total time was 6 hrs, and around the same exact price. We've also sent friends their way, one who used them to move from LA to SF and she raved about them.ETA- Minus one because one of the driver's smoked and it was really gross to smell it in the dead of summer in our new house. But in terms of work and labor, perfect.

I was really surprised to see that the Yelp star rating for Sunshine Boys was so low.  The guys that came and helped to move our condo were great.  Super nice, really professional, as well as fast and careful at the same time.  The supervisor Ron was really detailed about checking and double checking what was going where since we had 2 drop off locations.  I was really impressed by their service and attitude.  Not only would I refer them to a friend, I would definitely use them again.
