I was initially quoted a price that was well below the final cost and I was pretty upset. They adjusted the price for me after I wrote a pretty angry email about how off base the price was compared to the quote. After my stuff arrived, i saw why theyre a bit expensive. Expertly packed, nothing broken- including and iMac and two large screen TVs, nothing missing or lost. The packing job was organized and done with care! Just be wary- I think they quote everyone $1800 and then up the price by $500. I will be using them if I ever have another out of state move. Worth the haggling hassle for sure.

Starting with the "estimate", make sure list you list all of the items and list the weight roughly 2-5x the actual weight. If you don't your price once they have your stuff will double. Now it's time for "them" to move your stuff out. Not sure they do quality checks on the moving companies they hire to do the loading. Watching the "professionals" move my couch out the front door was like watching two toddlers put a circle peg through a square hole. My couch is ruined, my door jam is damaged and my walls are all marked up. They also broke the legs off another piece of furniture which they said they would "fix". A couple of weeks go by and I call  Ship Smart a couple of times to check in and see when I should expect my stuff. I got different vague/clueless answers. So I decided to call the company that moved my stuff out. You have to remember three different companies will handle your stuff before it's all said in done. He said they are almost done packing my stuff and I should have it in a week. Not the case. Couple of weeks later my stuff finally came. The movers that moved my stuff in, Craters and Freighters, were great would highly recommend them. I left them a great review. They seemed to care about my stuff. End result:  wouldn't recommend them at all. I had read some good reviews but missed the ones here since they are based out of CA. My couch is still ruined the piece of furniture they said they would fix, isn't. Yes, I still had to overpay them for packing and shipping my furniture they damaged.  Insurance is a joke.  Just cut them out of the equation. They don't even do the hard part of loading and unloading.

Do not pay your hard earned money to these sheisters. I should have read the reviews. Everything that is said in all of the negative reviews is TRUE. Ship Smart Inc. should get a ZERO for feedback, but I'm forced to give them a one. They are terrible!!!They promise to be cheap, and then they are expensive.Picked up furniture in mid May. Delivered in mid July. (Phoenix, AZ to DC)Zero. Absolutely zero communication in the meantime.Arrived damaged!Sales people are wonderful. Customer service people are NOT!!!NOT WORTH THE HASSTLE!!!

I've made several interstate moves  with various moving companies ranging from excellent to total disaster, but my experience with Ship Smart was the best moving experience I've ever had.  The movers themselves, on both ends of the move, were the best - at their jobs and as human beings. They were highly skilled, fast, efficient, caring and kind. And the reps with whom I communicated while setting up the move were courteous, knowledgeable, professional, always available by phone and by email, and responsive to all my concerns. Based on my experience I can't recommend Ship Smart highly enough.

4.5 stars if I could.  A local moving company in Marin County, California referred me to Ship Smart since mine was a small move of under 2000 pounds.  The team that came to collect my things was on time, polite, and worked at a steady pace until they were done.  My Ship Smart contact led me to believe that I could expect delivery in Texas in 2 to 3 weeks.  Actual delivery was 4 weeks.  This had no impact on my needs, but I was concerned about the slight overselling.  The team that delivered my goods was, again, on time, polite, and worked steadily until they were done.  Two of my wardrobe boxes were a bit crushed, but none of the contents were soiled or damaged as a result.  Overall, Ship Smart did a very good job for me, and I do recommend them.
