This was the absolute worst moving experience I have ever had. First of all, I had  found a mover on yelp called "The Moving Company" and scheduled a move through them. Several days after making the reservation, I received a call from the movers wanting to change the time of the appointment. It wasn't a problem so I said okay. Then, the day of the appointment I received a call at 7am wanting to reschedule the move again for a different time. I said OK. At this point, I called back "The Moving Company" only to be informed that they did not have my appointment on their schedule and that their system had been hacked by "LA Movers and Storage", a company not even licensed and bonded. Because I was in a bind and was not able to book another mover on such late notice, I decided to go through with my move with "LA Movers and Storage". Not only did the movers show up 30 minutes late to my storage facility (without a call) but the two guys who showed up did not speak a word of English. Luckily I was able to use some of my high school spanish skills to communicate. The first thing I asked them was the name of the company that they worked for. They had no idea. They had to call the company to find out the name of the company. Super shady. The movers then tried to get me to sign something saying that I had received a booklet (that would limit their liability). Since they did not give me a booklet, I refused to sign the form. I then called the company and the shadiness ensued with him saying that he was not in the office and couldn't send me the booklet until the following week.  It was clear when the movers started moving that they were not experienced movers. There was one point during the move that the mover came down carrying a broom in each hand. It took them twice as much time as it should have to load up their truck. In fact, a different moving company that was there made a comment to me about it. The movers I used to get my stuff into the unit took 2 hours including disassembling my bed, and wrapping everything in plastic. These movers took almost 4 hours. I definitely would not recommend this company.

Got a Living Social deal and thought because of all the good reviews we would not have an issue.  I called before purchasing the deal to make sure they could accomodate us on our move date.  They could so we set it up on the phone for a 4:00PM arrival.  I thought it was a little late, but I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment, so it was not too much stuff. I was out running errands and came back to find a note in my mailbox saying they had showed up, tried to call and to reschedule for tomorrow.  Um, we could not just reschedule everything else that is entailed with moving.  They showed up at 2:15 and had the wrong number for me.  The wrong number not their fault, but 2 hours early?!I called and they rescheduled for 5.  They showed up at 5:45.  The guys were nice and seemed ready to work.  As time went on, I learned it was one guys first day AND he thought he would be driving the truck NOT moving things.  He had no idea what he was doing.  The other guy did not really either.They ended up loading the truck with all the boxes before the few big pieces we have. So, big surprise, it did not fit and they had to make 2 trips. Since it was now super late and they were irritated, they were not careful with our stuff.  Most of our furniture was damaged and dirty.  There were black hand prints on a white cloth chair.  Yet, they had all the supplies to wrap the chair in either plastic or moving blankets.  All of our wood pieces are scuffed.  They were in such a rush to get it done and get home.The company then tried to charge us for going over the allotted time of 4 hours, which by the way, is not mentioned in the deal "fine print".  They did not leave our new place until 11pm.  This was not a good experience. :/

They should be called The Ghetto moving company. Worst episode ever! In over 40 years of living in Los Angeles, this was the worst experience I've ever had with any company. I have never written a negative review for any company, but I absolutely had to today. Every single thing they promised me on the phone they reneged on in person. Do not be fooled by the living SoCal deal. On the phone they said they would show up at a certain time (came 1:45 late), bring boxes (only brought 3) and be able to pack and unpack my stuff and work for six hours (didn't pack at all, refuse to unpack and only worked 4 1/2), I basically had to bring over all my friends to help with the move. So why did I hire a company? Other reviews on yelp so that they were able to do he second trip. I only moved a third of a mile away, yet they refused to!Every single one of those things was changed and they even tried to change the price on me. It was an extremely uncomfortable situation. I hired a mover to make things easy and it just made everything so much more complex. Moving into my first home should be an exciting thing, not pure drama! On the other hand, the workers were nice and they definitely know how to move and do it quickly, however given my conversations on the phone with dispatch and whoever is in charge of the office (and as advertised on their website and through the frequently asked questions on their page,), I expected one thing, yet I got the exact opposite.  One star is far too many!

LA Moving and Storage saved me. My landlord had decided to break our lease to sell our house and we had 1 week to move. Not only did they give us the most affordable price, but the movers that helped us move everything were the nicest guys. I couldn't have asked for a better experience from a moving company. I've heard bad stories from friends about their moving service, but I was definitely impressed by these guys and would recommend them to anybody.
