My moving job was transferred/subcontracted by another company I had contacted - who gave me estimates and quotes). Long story short these guys charged me by the hour and took 3 times longer than the original quote to pack and move. I moved just within 3 miles and my 2 bedroom apartment move cost me upwards of $1500! There was nothing I could do except watch the main guy wrap and wrap and wrap each object unnecessarily just to pad time. I will never hire them again! My two stars are for the faster younger person who was more efficient.

I was impressed with this moving company. The 3 gentlemen were respectful, hard working, and cautious of our funiture/ appliances. They came prepared to unassemble and reassemble into our rooms. With us having bad backs, it was worth the cost, peace of mind, and non-stressful. I will recommend this company to all who needs their service.

They were able to accommodate me for same-day moving, which is why they get their only star.  Long story short:  If you have ANY furniture of value or care about a timely move, AVOID this company. To echo other reviews, there were a number of issues, from David to the movers.  David said that the movers should be done with their first job at ~10:30 and I'm 30 minutes away, so they can be at my storage unit at 11a.m.  12pm hit and they still hadn't even contacted me.  Apparently, to David, saying they can be at 11 a.m. means that the earliest they'll be at my unit is 11a.m. and that, because I scheduled for same-day service, I have no right to complain about them being late.  Um...no.  There's nothing wrong with being honest and giving a range or AT LEAST saying that "11a.m." means "at the earliest 11a.m.", instead of making a customer wait 2 hours outside their storage unit.Regarding the movers, long story short, they were very inconsiderate and amateurs at moving.  You can look at the pictures I've posted.  Boxes that were VERY clearly marked fragile would have multiple boxes stacked on top of them.  They had tons of blankets to wrap around the furniture but wrapped only 1 item, leading to a number of damaged furniture (I'll get to that).  They BROKE a cabinet by dropping it on its face and didn't so much as say "I'm sorry" until 3 hours later when they wrote me the bill for the move.  Any mover should know that plasma TVs are not supposed to by laid down flat, but this one mover did everything but keep the TV upright.  They were also slower than my friend and I; it took two, big guys more time to move my stuff out of the storage unit than it did for my friend and I to move it into the storage unit (I'm 150lbs, my friend is 120lbs).  Lastly, I saw one of the movers about to stack dresser drawers on top of one of my storage containers and explicitly told him to NOT do that, as the lid would break.  He said that it wouldn't and then stacked ANOTHER drawer on top of it and the lid collapsed in right in front of both of us.  Absolute INCOMPETENCE. Regarding breaking our furniture, they claim to have insurance for damaged property but the insurance is almost worthless.  They only give $0.40 (40 cents) per pound for the item damaged, and DO NOT cover any self-assembly items (e.g. anything from Ikea, anything made with plywood because they're considered "disposable", etc.).  Look at the pictures.  They damaged a headboard and dresser (from a $1500 bedroom set), the above-mentioned storage container, and destroyed a cabinet.  All we got was $60 from the insurance for the damage (the cabinet wasn't covered because it was a self-assembly item). There is no way they deserve a 4+ star rating.

This is a long overdue review, but perhaps it is better late than never. David and his crew were scheduled to arrive at our residence on Friday the 17th of February to move Ivy and I to our new home. Unfortunately this was also the day the largest rain storm of the year hit. Though I had my doubts, David assured me they were prepared to perform the move for us rain or shine. The City of Angels trucks arrived promptly at 10:30 with a total of 4 guys ready to go. I have to say all of these guys had amazing attitudes and were a pleasure to work with. After briefly unloading their packing materials, (blankets, shrink wrap, boxes etc.) they quickly began loading the outdoor furniture and patio items into the smaller of the two trucks. David instructed the other guys to work on packing and loading the items in the garage keeping the outdoor and garage items to the smaller truck while the larger truck would be reserved for items from inside the home. This plan worked beautifully keeping things simple  for unload as well as protect delicate home items from the rough and dirty garage items. While the other 3 guys worked on the garage, David began assessing the items inside that needed to be packed and or prepared to move. Once his assessment was done he started packing the remaining unpacked loose items and plastic wrapping ALL of the furniture to protect it while in transit as well as from the weather. In what seemed to be a remarkably short amount of time the packing was completed, the trucks were loaded and we were off. The guys took a quick 30 minute meal break and were back at it. The Rain at this point was pretty unreal and there was a 3 and a half ft. wide river flowing down the street. All the guys were soaked, and beaten, but none of them ever lost their spirit. Our sectional couch did not end up fitting in our living room as we expected and David was happy to offer removal and disposal of the large item as a small extra cost which made our move in immensely easier to handle. The thought of having to deal with the disposal at a later date meant that we would have to leave it out in the rain in the back yard, rent a truck and dispose of it ourselves. I am not sure if it is a common service that moving companies offer, but I was glad City of Angels does. Before we knew it the move was completed and we were home. I would absolutely recommend City of Angels and use them again in the future.

It was a pleasure having Ivan, Sam & Dallas help me with my move. These guys were nice, careful and quick. They hustled and worked non stop. I highly recommend this company.
