I had a short notice move and hired this company to move me out of a small apartment.  I had everything organized and ready to go.  Three man team were very pleasant.  They took good care of my belongings.  However, the office manager needs a bag over that personality.  The reason for my move was someone had accessed my laptop and had my banking information.  I gave him my debit card number.  The bank had called me and requested that I go ahead and get a new card between the time I gave it to him and two days the movers were due..  They still mailed out their cards so I would have to wait for mine to come in the mail..  No worries, I had lots of cash.  While enroute to my storage the manager had them pull over and hold my stuff hostage until I gave him a Credit card number.   I told him I had enough cash to pay for my moving, he told me  'WE DON'T ACCEPT CASH".  In the initial call he told me several times on such a good deal he had for me.  But never mentioned the fuel charge or that cc were only accepted. He said I need a deposit, Ok I can give them a deposit no problem, yet he rambled on and on mean time I'm paying for this time.  He didn't want me to give them cash.......let me get this straight.   I have to trust your men to come in and be with my belongings and give you my cc number which gives you access to my bank account and you don't want to trust me or your employees????The movers were very nice and pleasant.  They did an excellent job and lunch was on me.  I don't appreciate some schmuck doubting my ability to pay for my move or my morals.  I'm retired Department of Defense and a hard honest worker.  I gave them 500 cash as my deposit, when they called for a total we had to wait for someone to call us back with a final total.  It really was a little more than it should have been, but I wasn't going to start an argument.  They sent the guys out with a blank receipt for them to fill out, they also wanted me to sign a blank form. No numbers on the form and it was a single copy.  So they did not have one signed by me.

I should've read the reviews on Yelp first.  We picked up a flyer from the front desk of the condo we were moving into and called The Moving Company.  They told us that they usually use a 3-man crew, but asked if they could send a 4-man crew to speed things up, and that it would cost extra for the extra man, but should take less time. The plan was that two movers would be unloading my apartment, and two would be loading the truck.When they showed up, I was introduced to all of them--they were all nice guys.  However, I never saw more than two of them working at a time.  I would know, as I was helping to move boxes and furniture myself. The two guys who were supposed to loading the truck were mostly non-existent.  Every time I saw missing guy #1, he was on his phone or talking to other people at my apartment complex (drumming up future business?).  When I asked one of the guys who WAS working where missing guy #2 was, I was told he was not feeling well and was in the bathroom in the lobby of the apartment complex.  I timed it at being over one hour.  I'm sorry he wasn't feeling well, but I'm paying by the hour for 4 movers, and if he's not feeling well, I shouldn't have to pay for him.After the move, I called the company, and was told that I don't understand how moving works.  I replied that I think I get the concept.  As I was helping to move, and there is only one elevator, and only one route to the truck, I would know that the two truck loaders were not loading the truck, as I didn't see them.  They weren't in my apartment, in the elevator or the truck.The person on the phone said that he would refund me the money for the time missing guy #2 spent in the bathroom as soon as we hung up.  As yet, this has not happened.  He never addressed the fact that missing guy #1 did little to no work.  I asked my condo complex to stop referring this company, and they threw the remaining flyers away.  I paid $900 to move the packed contents of one small apartment one mile to one small condo.  If you want to overpay,  be frustrated, and not have your concerns taken seriously, then by all means, The Moving Company is for you!lHere is a link to the Consumer Complaint Form on the TX Attorney General's website: texasattorneygeneral.gov…

Do not hire this company! I would give them zero stars if possible. They charged me over $800 for 3 guys to load a truck for 6 hours which was way more than they quoted me. The worst part is they did a horrible job loading everything and almost every piece of furniture and appliance I own was damaged due to their negligence. They refuse to take responsibility and cover any of the damage in spite of numerous calls and emails with pictures of the damage! The moving company I hired to unload the truck said this was the worst job of loading they had ever seen! I will be retaining an attorney to help me with this and hope this helps save someone else from this situation.

The movers were great however they spent an hour wrapping my leather couch in plastic wrap, wasting time. The movers took a 45 minute lunch break that I was charged for.  The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was not clear about the $125 "trip fee" along with other additional charges. For 3 hours I was charged $600. They make you sign before you actually get to see the bill. I absolutely do not recommend this company.

Absolute BS.  If this was the case then why did you call us and offer us money to take this post down?  We will not take the post down especially now that you are still lying!  FYI.  Just the refrigerator was $1200 and the chair was a leather lounge worth $800.  The law you state believe me would not have been on your side had we pushed the issue more.  Threats never get you anywhere.  We as a family also talk greatly about other companies that do a great job and believe you me you ARE NOT ONE OF THOSE Companies!!   I can't believe you are still up and running! Unreal...
