Movers and Packers

I am already a huge proponent of paying movers to move your stuff instead of roping your friends into helping because it's FAST and not *that* expensive but the guys of Jerry Wood Moving were extra kick ass. They were on time (a few minutes early, even!), had a huge truck and they were super conscientious with my stuff. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.Two things though:1. A bunch of other reviews said this but I'll repeat it (it was also advice from my cousin and brother who both used Jerry Wood Movers before me): Don't try to call. Just text. Todd will get back to you.2. I didn't realize that they were cash or check only so it was a MIRACLE that I happened to know which of the bajillion boxes my check book was in.But those details aside, a big thank you to Chuck and Brian for making my move so, so, so painless!

We have moved  five times since 2000 with Jerry Wood Moving company. They have surpassed our expectations everytime. Todd, Chuck all other members are knowledagable and caring professionals. We just moved back to our fully renovated house and they took amazing care to make sure we don't damage anything.I wish we could find same level of service and professionalism when using other services.Jerry Wood Moving is the only name you need to remember when it comes to moving.

The guys were wonderful! I can't believe how fast they were. I didn't feel they took advantage of their time at all. Load and unload. Unassembled and reassembled. They moved me from South San Jose to San Martin and then my fiancé from Gilroy to San Martin in 3 hours. They accepted cash or check. I've recommended them to my co-workers and friends. So professional. Thanks again guys!

We gave Jerry Wood Moving a try because they were highly recommended by a friend. We corresponded through a few texts to get the quote and set up a time for the move. For those trying to get a hold of Todd, texting is the way to go as others have recommended. You might be waiting for a while if you just leave him a voice mail.On the day of the move, Todd's crew show up exactly at 8:30 in the morning as planned. They surveyed the layout and went to work right away. My first impression was that these guys don't mess around - they efficiently went about disassembling furniture as needed, wrapping them (with blankets they brought) with attention, and getting them into the truck included in the price. They were able to pack everything we needed to move for our 4-BR house by noon.They took an hour for lunch on the way to our new home (didn't charge me for the time) and got everything unpacked and set up in a couple of hours. Again, they took the same great care with the unpacking - no breaks, no dings, no idle time. This crew of Todd, Chuck, and Brian were like highly efficient moving machines.I was so impressed with this company and it's crew. They are friendly (without being chatty), they are punctual, they asked question when needed, they are efficient and won't waste your time, and most importantly they take care of the stuff they move. This company is as professional as it gets - no wonder they're so busy. I now recommend these guys to everyone I know who needs moving services.

Update 5/4/16==============The net of it is I'm not going with Jerry Wood Moving because I feel I worked harder trying to get a quote from them than they wanted my business.They finally got back to me on 5/2 after I posted on Yelp (a coincidence?).So after nearly 5 days of my calling and leaving voicemails at their two phone #s and asking them repeatedly to please call me, they texted me.  (What is it about not wanting to make time to *call* a prospective customer?)What gave me heartburn was:1) The person (Todd I think) didn't even identify himself or his company in his text.  All I saw was the phone # and "Might be booked on XX/YY."  What the heck?  No, name, no greeting, nothing?2) His text then said "Sent word weeks ago".  Ummm, not possible because my first try at contacting him (by phone) was 5 days ago.  Then he texted "Sent a message last week or so."3) He didn't apologize for not getting back to me after my repeated attempts over a span of nearly 5 days to reach his company.  Not an acknowledgement, zip.
