First, read about moving scams, how the moving business is essentially unregulated/un-enforced, and about the horror stories from others. Dallas Moving is no different. It is run by a shadowy East European dude who is the operations manager. Olivia is just the upfront customer service lady that makes the company sound legit. Don't listen to her when she tries to point out they are real and everyone else is a fraud. The ops manager, I can't remember his name, Sergi?, also reads Olivia's emails and responds to them. First thing when they arrived is he started demanding more money for every little thing, stuff like a tiny kids rocking chair. His guys were just hired day laborers of questionable immigration status, and they didn't care what they were loading or packing. Some of them packed horribly. Silverware dumped out into boxes, mislabeled boxes, and no regard for fragile stuff. Don't be fooled by a climate controlled storage claim. We had to store our stuff because we didn't have a house lined up to move into yet. Our items were re-packed into a 53' trailer and then left in the summer heat. In that time items were damaged beyond repair. My wife's hot wax kit had oozed out and ruined contents in a box. It was hot enough to melt wax; you know that is hot. Do not pack any kind of photos, important records, valuables, or heat sensitive items. Take that stuff with you. Then of course is the delivery scheduling. The contract, which is meaningless, states a delivery window. That doesn't exist here. We called and said deliver ANYTIME AFTER the 5th. To guarantee a delivery date they wanted an extra $1200 on top of the $10000 they were already getting. We went back and forth and it was very bitter. Sergi negotiates like a Soviet..."it's a good deal, for me!" They threatened they would dump our stuff somewhere too. We relented and settled on the delivery date the ops manager said he was having it delivered on (3rd), and then later that same day he says 'no, no, it will be the 1st now, but we can still do the the 3rd for an extra fee.' He also loves the word confirm. Can you confirm? You confirm? The next delivery date was two months away and we'd pay for storage. I finally got to the point where I was ready to fly back down and literally slay bodies. I emailed him calling him out on the game he was playing. It is exactly the same as all the other moving horror stories. I said stop playing this schitt and I'll pay the remainder in cash on deliver. Not a penny more. I emailed all that to the Olivia person and the ops manager responded through her email address. In the whole course of this you deal with nly the ops manager. He is A#1 of the organization. Olivia is just a filter and sales person. She can't help you at all.Our stuff showed up on the 3rd driven by another East European dude. He claims he is not in cahoots with the ops manager. I caught them both in that lie. They were both in on the scam. The laborers again were from the local workhouse and one had a lengthy criminal record he told me all about while I helped move my own stuff in. Also, we are missing things. We didn't know stuff was missing until later. My guess is it never made the truck in Dallas when they were switching loads and repacking. This mover was beyond stressful. Our last move was by a big name national company and it went without a hitch. I was in a bad position this time around, and couldn't afford the big name guys, so I had to take my chances. I wish I hadn't. Local moves by Dallas Moving are probably not much of a hassle. Interstate moves are where they get you. Stay away from this company. It is a textbook moving scam. I also see their address has already changed. Dallas Moving will be open a little longer until the bad reviews and complaints stack up, then they'll shut it down and re-open with new a DOT number and a new name to continue with the scam.
