I contracted moving services with Dallas Moving through their rep Ron in October of 2015 for a move from Texas to Colorado. I purchased their most extensive service that included professional packing, loading, moving, unloading and reassembly. I was told by my sales rep that this was their "pampering service" in which professional packers and movers would be utilized at both pick up and drop off. As explained by the rep, the service included professionally secured packing, box labeling, unloading in the designated rooms of the house, reassembly of all disassembled furniture and a care call to ensure total satisfaction with the moving experience. This is not at all what I received.Upon delivery only the truck driver was available to unload the truck. He explained that he was not provided any help on my delivery but that he was  "calling a guy" to help him out. After almost an hour of sitting around another person finally showed up to help unload the truck. After talking to this individual for a moment he explained to me that he was hired by the driver off of Craigslist to help. He was not a professional mover in the slightest and was very open and comfortable talking to me about his endeavors with marijuana and getting into the grow operation business (not the kind of person I am comfortable with unloading all of my personal items and valuables. However, these were the only 2 movers I had (along with myself - YES, I also helped unload as well for the sake of time)). As they began unloading they had already moved roughly 15 boxes into my house that were actually labeled -although the labeling was unfamiliar to me as we did not have a "basement" or "study" at my previous residence so I started opening boxes to make sure that it was actually my belongings. Sure enough, they had been unloading someone else's boxes in my house. I made them aware of the mishap which required another hour of putting the boxes back and trying to locate which boxes were actually mine. Come to find out, none of my boxes had been labeled creating the additional task of opening each box and deciphering where they belonged in the house (which my wife and I did on our own). So not only did I take part in unloading the truck but I also had to go through each box to identify if it was mine and where it went in my home - talk about a pain and waste of time/ money. This is what I paid Dallas Moving $3,500 to do with the promise that this service was their "pampering service"... Furthermore, I still have someone else's power washer and picture frame at my house - I'm sure if their other customer realized this they would be extremely frustrated. Also makes me wonder what I haven't realized that I am missing yet...It gets worse: during the move, one of the non-professional movers took my brand new 65 inch smart TV into the house and ended up shattering the screen. It was explained to me that Dallas Moving had great insurance and that any lost or broken personal items would be replaced or reimbursed. I filed the claim the day after the move through their insurer, CSI, providing all necessary information and pictures. It has now been over 2 and a half months and I have not been reimbursed. After paying over $3,500 on a poor moving service in which I had still had to do moving work, figure out what each box had in it due to no labeling and reassembling the furniture myself that had been disassembled by the packers, I then had to pay another $800 out of my own pocket to purchase a new television to replace the one that the movers broke before we had family in town for Thanksgiving.I am extremely disappointed with the level of service that was provided. Based on the contract that I signed for the move - several of the promised service items were not fulfilled from Dallas Moving using only professional movers to adequately packing a labeling each box to reassembling my furniture that had been disassembled during the packing process. I will also stand by my argument that had there been professional movers unloading my personal belongings that my television might have been spared the decommissioning damage. This move was the absolute worst that I have ever had and I have moved 4 times in the last 3 years (always using a moving service) so I have a lot to compare it to. This moving service was not the luxury "pampering service" that I was promised by their sales rep and turned out to be the most stressful situation I have had to deal with in years. The service that I was promised to be provided is not anywhere close to being worth the money I paid.It takes me calling once to twice a week to actually get someone on the phone who claims that "they are working on it", management refuses to speak with me and nothing has been resolved to date. I will be contacting the BBB to file a complaint and may even seek litigation from my attorney. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - trust me!

I just completed a move with Dallas Moving and I would like to respond to the other, rather unfavorable reviews.  When you do a move across states, and you get an estimate over the phone, it's bound to change.  How can someone give you a quote sight unseen and not change it when it turns out you have more stuff than when you were quoted?  We just had a pretty favorable experience with Dallas Moving.  Olivia is a superior professional and she worked with me from start to finish.  Her responsiveness, forthrightness, and experience are all top notch.  She was an absolute pleasure.  We gave her a meticulously detailed list of all our items, and yes her estimate was too low because once the movers came, they found 15 more boxes plus a lot more boxes that were large instead of medium.  So of course the final dollars changed.  But they worked with us and all went well.  On the drop off, it does get dicey with getting the day for delivery.  It is a less expensive service than the others I priced, and they have to do the delivery that is most economical for them.  So I accept that, even though it cut into my schedule a bit.  But all worked out on the delivery in the end.  I would use Dallas Moving again and again.

They robbed me blind!  Both while packing my items and in the delivery.  Not to mention the quote I received over the phone was for $1800 and when the movers showed up they told me it was going to be $4600!!!  I was on a tight schedule, I had a plane to catch, my car was being picked up by a shipping company...I called the moving company in a panic to ask why there was such a huge jump in price after I went through piece by piece inventory on the phone with a sales clerk?  I was told I just needed to belly up the funds or everyone would walk.  While unpacking, my stuff I realized that they didn't wrap anything--literally everything that they didn't steal has been damaged in some way.  Very amateur, ANYONE has more intelligence to know better!!  For example:  One box had a lamp shade in it with no protection around it that was thrown in with a bunch of wooden hangers!  My plates were boxed with my pots and pans. ??  All of them smashed.  Wardrobe boxes were stuffed half-full with shoes and then my clothing hung, and then sweaters thrown in on top of that!??  At one point during the packing process I asked the man who was packing my bedroom to open up a box for me because I forgot a necklace and a ring out of my top right side of my dresser drawer.  He told me "No" that if he opened the box up he couldn't reseal it without an additional charge.  I argued with him and he started to get aggressive, I feared for my safety and gave in--those are the exact items that were missing from that box now, all I have are the empty boxes that they came in!!  He literally lifted them out of their jewelry boxes while packing.  My evening gowns were stolen as well. When my items were delivered, they were being sent to a storage unit because I moved to town to take care of a terminally ill friend of mine and would be staying at his house.  One of the reasons I originally chose to go with this moving company is that they said they would "crate" the delicate items such as a sculpture and mirrors to prevent breaking and carefully wrap all other furniture items.  I asked if the price would include keeping those items wrapped since they were going into storage and was told "Yes".  However, upon arrival I was told by the two drivers that everything needed to be unwrapped, all blankets needed to be returned otherwise the two drivers would personally be charged for them.  I called the company and was told I could pay $15 dollars each per blanket to keep them.  Being at their mercy a second time, I had no choice but give the driver $550 in cash.  And mine you, these blankets were ripped and torn, well-used, dirty moving blankets.   During the load-in to the storage unit, I asked that all my clothing be kept to the front so I could easily get to it.  I was told that there was a method to how they were loading the unit.... OK??  When I asked where my flat screen TV and Bose stereo was they knew immediately and told me it was in a safe place, right on top.  Ok great.  I took a picture of my unit once everything was loaded in, even took a picture of myself with these two men.  I then closed the unit and locked it up.  I waited for the movers to leave and was told by them that they had some additional paperwork to fill out in their truck that needed to be turned in at the front office and I didn't have to wait on them, this was going to take awhile.  I left the storage facility before they did.  Not happy, but content knowing my things were safely stored away.  Upon revisiting my items at the storage unit, I thought it odd that the lock on my unit wasn't the lock I previously purchased.  I had a key lock and this was a combination lock.  I had to call a man to saw the lock off for $55.  Once that happened, I opened the unit door to discover that my items have been stolen.  I thought it looked empty, and pulled up the photo I took previously, and showed the storage unit owner as well, several items were in fact missing.  The storage unit owner said that from his records it was clear that no one tried to access the unit other then the day I moved in.  And who else knew what I had in my unit and where it was located but the two men that moved me in who had access to the building that day... In addition to everything above, trying to contact the claims department has been an impossible nightmare!  They have a voicemail recording that doesn't even let you leave a message!!It would be best to set your items on fire and walk away then to contract this company to move you.

Deceptive marketing and contract practices and abysmal customer treatment: Original move agreement stated delivery would be 2-15 days. I sent emails of inquiry and informed the company that the 15 day delivery time was about to end. I informed them of limited availability due to work restrictions past this 15 days. With no response to emails, I placed calls. I was told my goods were en route and to call driver. The rep refused to manage the process or let me speak with a supervisor. The driver said the delivery would not be made by deadline. He said if he had been given previous notice, the delivery could have been made first, but there was no way to change it. I could not accept proposed delivery and asked for a quote for delivery the following morning. (Prior to giving a down payment, I explained restricted delivery options at my building and was told there would not be a problem working with my schedule.)The driver implied the items would be left whether or not I was present. The company rep again refused to let me speak with a supervisor to find a solution. I was hung up on twice with no resolution. After I filed an on-line complaint with FMCSA, supervisors finally called. I knew if the recipient cannot accept delivery, additional fees may apply. I said I was willing to pay because I started a new job and could not take this day off work. I was repeatedly refused an estimate. Neither supervisor would give me a quote to deliver the next morning saying it would be expensive. I stated it didn't matter and to give me a quote. They refused. In order to accept delivery or, evidently, have my things left somewhere, I had to rent a storage unit and meet the truck after work. At the storage unit, only the driver was present to move items; the contract stated a minimum of two people. The company said they used their own staff and trucks and that my items would remain on the truck; this was not true. A different truck arrived with my goods which then invalidated the additional insurance I purchased. My items were not handled with care, two items were damaged, and the delivery time took longer.I was still expected to pay full price and did so in order for my goods to be unloaded.  Full price for an incomplete delivery that was late, not to my final destination, and handled in a coercive manner. I now have to hire another moving company to deliver my goods from storage to apt.  Do not use this company! (And, whichever one you use, ask for the final contract document prior to paying a deposit. My original contract when I paid the deposit said 2 - 15 days. Once my things were being moved and I was presented with a second document, there was contradictory information within that I did not see until too late.)
