History

Established in 2008. After working with major moving companies in the DFW area, I was able to learn the do's and the do not's of the business. In 2008 I decided to establish my own moving company that would provide a great moving experience and great customer service and all for an affordable rate. With a pick up truck and a 24ft enclosed trailer I was able to start something that I am proud of, 5Star Movers. We have now expanded to 2 office locations in CityPlace and Plano, we have several size trucks ranging from 16ft — 26ft, we are also a  BBB accredited business, and service Austin, San Antonio, Houston and El Paso. With my experience in customer service and working hands on as a mover, I am able to understand both sides of the industry, the mover and the customer. We will never send you «over worked» movers, and we will always do our best to accommodate our customers. I've  used these movers a couple times and they are great. They're very polite and move fast. They were reasonably priced and they took the time to wrap all my stuff. I would use them again in a heartbeat!

Moving is a frustrating process in itself and 5 Star Movers made it absolutely miserable. I was confirmed movers to be at my apartment between 4 and 7 p.m. I called around 5 p.m. to see if I could get an updated time and I was advised they would arrive closer to the 7 p.m. timeframe. Called back at 7 p.m. and was advised the movers were backed up and it would not be until around 10 p.m. that evening. The representative (Shante?) asked if I was willing to let them come the following morning (Sunday), and that I would be the first apartment between 8 and 10 a.m. I called at 9:30 a.m. as I had not heard from anyone at 5 Star. The same representative told me the slot was between 8 and 10. I waited until 10 a.m. and called the representative back and she stated she could not get ahold of the movers; giving excuses that they had a late night. I let her know that I needed to be out of the apartment by today and she promised me movers the previous day and that morning and failed to deliver. Informed her that we had basically moved everything except the larger pieces and asked if she could at least provide one man and a truck and we would assist. Two men finally showed up almost 24 hours after my original time. The men advised us of the price, which was barely discounted ($50), and we spoke with the representative and asked for a more discounted rate for everything we went through. The representative became rude and was unwilling to come to an agreement with us, very unprofessional. At this point, I just needed to be moved so my family of four helped the two movers. We moved the majority of the items. Also, a box of my kitchen appliances are missing and the movers lost bolts and screws needed to assemble my furniture. All in all, if you value your time, belongings, and money - do not choose 5 Star Movers.I take some of the blame because I did not read the Google reviews. It is very apparent after reading 5 Stars correspondences to other customer complaints that they do not care about customer service whatsoever. You should be embarrassed to call yourself "5 Star Movers".

Worst move possible. SLOW MOVERS AND EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE.  THEY WOULD NOT LET ME PAY With my CREDIT CARD. THEY SAID THE CREDIT CARD WAS DOWN. CASH ONLY.  Sounds like bologna!!Worst movers  I have ever used. What a nightmare. Let's start with that I told them I reserved the elevator controls at 8am-10, then the other building from 10-12. I was organized and had everything ready for the movers. The furniture was taken apart (tables, bed, sectional) table was already bubble wrapped and washer and dryer we disconnected ready for transport.  I moved the night stands and a small chair to the living room then the bed takes apart on its side in the bedroom. This was a snatch and grab operation ready to move out at 0800. That was scheduled at 8 o'clock in the morning. When they didn't show up the company called up at 10 o'clock saying that the drivers on the way to the pick up address got pulled over and TAKEN TO JAIL FOR MULTIPLE WARRANTS. That makes me extremely uncomfortable from the start. The new crew arrived at 11:30am which made us miss the elevator control time. The new last minute crew which I've nicked name (OLD AND SHORT. Hispanic bunch and only 1 spoke English ) came in and looked at the rooms (1 bedroom,1 bath 700 sqft apartment) we let them get to work and went and dropped off our 3 flat screen tvs to our new apartment which is just around the corner from our old apt.  We picked up our keys and dropped the tvs and came back to the old apartment right at a hour time. The movers had only packed my mattress/box springs and night stands. Needless to say with out us there they took their sweet time. It took them 2.5 hours to pack up the whole apartment. It's a 20 second walk at the old place to the service elevator which was right in front of the loading area. I called the apartment service and talk to shante and told her that they were very slow and there's no way that it should take that long. She called the drivers and made a bunch of excuses which were all false saying the elevators were slow and the walk to to elevators. The new apartment is 2 lights away. By google maps it's 0.5 or a 3 min drive. From the loading zone to my new apartment there is a longer hall way but a super fast elevator. "Short" the mover would move in 3 boxs at a time on a huge dolly. I called and talk to the office again about the speed and loads he was bringing in. Needless to say it helped because they unloaded the truck at a slightly higher speed and they were finished in 2 hours. We noticed when we were reconnecting the washer and dryer (which they moved into place) that the washer had been dented in the transport. They take no responsibility for a 1500 washer they just dented. Shante was calling us but she was in a loud environment (she was at a party) so the moving owner or supervisor had called us and only gave us a discount of 40 dollars. Because of their tardiness I had to pay a 75 dollar fee to my old apartment because I was not ready to vacate the apartment by the end of the Business day 5pm because I had to go back and clean the floors from the move. Would have never happen if the movers were on time and hustled to complete the move in a timely manner. I emailed 5star been showing them pictures of the apt packed and ready to move, and a video 23 seconds long long showing of the hallways and loading zone they had a travel to the elevator. evidence that what they were saying is false. It would have been faster if they were on time. The movers got called in on their day off and milked the clock. All they gave me was a lame excuses and bad customer service!!! Worst company ever. Warn your friends to never use 5 Star Movers.

Horrible customer service. Slowest movers I have ever had. After not showing up the first day we had them scheduled,  we rescheduled for the next day at 4. I had to leave work early and they didn't show up until 630 then took 4 hours to pack up a 2 bedroom 1st floor apartment. They didn't move everything I had, so I'm still having to do 5 trips to get the rest of my stuff.  I left the same time they did and it took them an extra 30 minutes to get to my new apartment.  They didn't finish until 2 A.M. No discount or deal was given...they actually denied my complaints when I asked for one. Tried to say I had to pay cash but I only had a credit card that I could pay $800 with so they "LET" me. Never again will I use them.
