This is by far the worst moving company I have experienced. They could not take my four-poster bed apart necessitating my hiring a furniture repair man to do so. The owner of Nicky's said they do basic things not an Ethan Allen bed. In addition, they would not put together a desk set since they did not take it apart. These two things added $200 to the cost of the move. There was extensive damage to furniture in three of four instances caused by adhesive tape that was used to secure padding to furniture. In one instance where the finish was removed off an end table their insurance paid $9. In addition, since they spent over an hour trying to take the bed apart, the move took eight hours. The men were very slow and they blamed the prolonged moving time as due to the long walk from the elevator. In addition, they went to an office complex across the street, instead of my residential development. They wasted 45 minutes doing this. I called them and told them they were not at my loading dock which they denied. I had given them written directions which they said they left on the truck while they started to unload at the office complex.I have to add how they came unprepared in terms of tools. They used my Allen's wrench kit in attempt to take the bed apart. It disappeared after that. I never got it back. The leader of the group said I probably put it in a drawer. Why would I do that? They also had to borrow tools from the office where I lived.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

This review is from my mom who used Nicky's to move out of her apartment that she's lived in for 15 years:Thank you very much for the wonderful moving service that Nicky's Moving & Storage gave to me last week on Thursday Oct. 15, 2009. I really appreciate the hard work, courteous, helpful & friendly men that made my move so much easier!.  It's nice to know that people can rely on Nicky's Moving & Storage, and I will recommend you to others, including Timberlake.   If you had a grading system set up I would give your company a A++!

Nicky's Moving is the shadiest company you can find.  After they destroyed several pieces of furniture and avoided me for 3 months to make good on the insurance - 60c per lb,  I found out that they change business names / addresses every few years.  Lee - is Leon McWilliams.  Good luck trying to get in touch with him regarding problems.  Once they take your money - he doesn't care.Cheap is so costly!

In February 2012, my wife and I hired Keystone Moving DBA Nicky's Moving & Storage to wrap/pack all of our goods from one home, store them for 4 weeks, and then deliver them to the new home, all located in Center City Philadelphia. I researched companies carefully, and all were the same base price of $103/hr for packing and moving. Other places were charging $100 for the storage, but the manager told me on the phone that we wouldn't need to pay storage fees if our items were there less than 30 days. Unfortunately I did not review the contract fully before paying them. They had charged $130/hr for packing and moving. The estimate for packing materials was given at $150 when they came to review for the estimate. The charges were almost triple that. Including $30 in simple math that was done incorrectly in their favor. When we opened the boxes at our new home we were shocked to find that half the boxes were almost empty, or filled with wadded up paper. I bought the movers sandwiches for lunch and in one box that was 3 feet high I found the wrappers to their sandwiches and 1 sauce pan. One box had a broken lamp shade and all our living electronics dumped in without any kind of care. Also on the contract was a 3% charge listed under "excessive distance". I was told on the phone that this was a credit card fee, but we were not told about that in advance. On top of this they charged us $260 for the drive from their storage facility to our home; less than a 4 mile drive. I called the manager multiple times to dispute the charges, but he was not helpful at all. The one time he came to the phone he said he thought I had a hidden agenda with all my phone calls. They charged us $50 for storage and when I mentioned my conversation with the manager to the receptionist, she said McWilliams had never spoken to me at all. Overall, we were overcharged by at least $400 and received the worst customer service. This company's practices are dishonest and should not be trusted by anyone.

I've used Nicky's twice. The first time (Jan '09), they were pretty good and reasonably priced. The second time (Nov '09), they were the WORST movers I've ever had - and I've moved over 30 times in my life, so I know what I'm talking about!!!The guy who gave me the original quote estimated the amount of time and people incorrectly; he also neglected to note my early start time. The movers showed up 20 minutes late the first day and an hour late moving day (and I moved to a condo with VERY strict elevator governances). The movers were also surprised to learn that my services included unpacking and to help them make the time; I helped unpack while they dumped stuff on the floor to get all the boxes out. The final straw was when they lost the hardware for one of my bookcases and my guest bed. They're coming today, two weeks later, to finish the job because they were unavailable last weekend. However, it was supposed to be finished by noon - it's 12:30 and the guy called 20 minutes ago to tell me he only just got on his way.Again, do NOT use this company if you want any type of accountability or responsiveness (did I mention that their pricing estimate was more the 20% off as well? - at least 10% of that is being refunded when I called to complain about this service). Nicky's Moving is not a reputable agency and I'll NEVER use them again!!!
