these guys were great  they helped me move out of my apartment, informed me of when my items were going to be delivered and  moved it into my new home.  all my stuff were accounted for. Great job Guys.

We had a terrible experience with Stevens when moving from Providence, RI to Orlando, FL. First, the movers that came to pick up our belongings asked us for a 15% tip (our total was about 1600) and told us that "waitresses get tipped 20% and we do way more work" UNBELIEVABLE. Then we were promised that we would recieve a phone call 24 hours before the movers arrived in Orlando. That NEVER happened, we got a call at 7am saying they would be there in two hours. My boyfriend had to leave work in order to be home for them, since he was given absolutely no notice and a 4 day window that they would be there. JOE RUSSO was the worst part of this entire experience. My boyfriend called him to complain about the unprofessional manner of the drop off, and received an EXTREMELY sarcastic response of "What are you mad about? Your stuff was there in time - are you mad that you were inconvenienced? too bad." We also ended up with a box that belongs to another family and have no way of returning it to its rightful owner, as there is no information on it. When he told Joe that he was going to report him to the BBB, Joe responded with "Have a nice fourth of July, Go F*** Yourself" and hung up on him. NEVER use this company, and if you do - steer clear of  the rude incompetence that is Joe Russo.

One of the worst moving experiences I've ever had.1. They provided an estimate and we signed a contract for that amount2. They pick up our furniture, load everything and drive off expecting them to arrive and hour later (Brooklyn to Jersey City)3. A half an hour later they tell us that the price is now 60% higher and that if we don't agree to pay in cash once the truck arrives they won't deliver our furniture4. We begrudgingly agree because they're basically holding our stuff hostage and then they give us grief because we want to pay with a money order instead of cash5. Finally, most of our plates and kitchen ware were damage during the moveAvoid these movers AT ALL COSTS!

I found them to be abrasive and sketchy. They told me it would take 14 business days to refund my deposit when I called the day after to cancel. Meanwhile it took them a matter of minutes to charge it yesterday. They did not give me a confirmation, and just said it would be passed off to accounting. It does not take 14 business days to cancel a charge that was just made.  I won't be surprised if the deposit has not been refunded in two weeks, but I have an excellent credit card that doesn't make you pay when businesses pull stuff like that. I am giving the benefit of the doubt, but it just confirms for me that this is not a solid company. They only take cash payment for the move, which in today's era is completely outdated and makes me not trust them. They took a cc deposit, so not taking the balance by cc makes me think they are nervous about their own accountability or that they may demand a different amount than quoted. In general, any business that's cash only when you are talking large sums of money says to me that they are worried about a paper trail. Not good. But most of all, and the reason I canceled was that the information and customer service was very strange and seemed dishonest. When I asked very specific questions about how certain things would be handled, I got a lot of hot air but no straight answers, making me think that this is the type of company that has a lot of surprise charges at the end. I did not use the company, so I cannot vouch for their trucks or their crew. My two star rating is for their customer service and their business model.

It makes me really sad to have to rate them so poorly. When I first worked with them, Anthony Demarco was so professional and helpful and warm.  Im going to be brief in saying that they 1.) Avoid phone calls 2.) Avoid assuming responsibility 3.) Delivered broken items 4.) required I pay more money than was on the contract with no explanation of the charges 5.) didn't deliver 2 of my items and STILL won't return my calls/texts/emails about the missing items and when I was frustrated with my move, Anthony Demarco HUNG UP ON ME.As far as I'm concerned, this entire moving business is a bunch of scoundrels.  I would recommend you pay your own friends to move your things over paying professional services, especially companies like this.
