Do NOT use this moving company.. I realize that when moving companies get enough complaints, they change their name. So, if you get a call from a little guy named Eric with a loud voice and Brooklyn accent.. your best bet would be to hang up right away. He is quite convincing, but just truly doesn't give a sh--. OH! and he charged me an extra $230 because of extra space.. I had 10 small boxes, a table, a small, two piece sectional and a small tv stand. He's a complete fraud. The day they came to pack my stuff was 1/25, they were supposed to be there between 8am-10am.. they showed up at 11:30am and pretty much messed up my day because I had so much to do before leaving New York for my new home in Florida the next day. No apologies, no reasoning. I had told him that he pretty much ruined my day because I had so much to do, one of them being a whole lot of laundry and then had a good bye dinner planned (which I had to cancel). His response was "don't worry about it, girl's clothes dry faster than guy's clothes". How asinine of a response is that? Mind you this man is smaller than me and I'm 5'3". An Oompa Loompa if you will. Fast forward to the fiasco that was getting my stuff. I had them put my things in storage for 30 days since they offered it for free. I moved from NY to Florida so I figured it would be a couple of days. I received a call on Monday, 2/22 from the dispatch manager named David saying that the truck would be loaded and ready to go that Thursday, 2/25 and arrive by me on Saturday or Sunday of that weekend. He said he would call me on Friday to give me an approximate time of arrival. No calls. I called David on Saturday, no call back. I called Eric and he told me to call some guy named Alex. I did and Alex says "I'm sorry about that" (he's the only person in my entire experience to apologize) "let me call the driver to see where they are and I will call you back" NOTHING. No call back. I call Alex again on Sunday TWICE! He said again he would call me right back. NOTHING! I told him before hanging up that this would have to happen the following weekend now because I can't take a day off from work..if I did I would get written up. I finally get in touch with him and he says he will call me first thing in the morning to let me know what they can do, NOTHING! then, I get a call from the driver on Tuesday casually saying they will be here between 11am and 3pm on Wednesday. WTF!?? No! I said. So David FINALLY called me to do his job and said that they will see what they can do and try to change things around. I thought about it for a moment and called Eric to tell him that I would take the day off because now I don't trust them with my things. He said "OK I'll call David" Well, he did call David who told him that it was already changed to after 5:30pm that day, but nobody bothered to call me and let me know. So I took the day off for nothing and got written up for nothing! They showed up at almost 6:30pm.. no apologies, no reasoning. Today is Friday and I've been waiting to calm down to really look through my boxes for damaged goods.. The reason I have to calm down on top of all of the above is that my dining room table that has been in my family for 50 years is ruined.. destroyed. Sorry for the long winded review.. but if it helps the next person from having to deal with this type of aggravation and incompetence, it's worth it

If this review can possibly save even one person from the horrible experience with these crooks that I had, then it will have been worth my time typing it.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!  THEY ARE CROOKS AND WILL HOLD YOUR BELONGINGS HOSTAGE FOR MORE MONEY.  They gave me an emailed binding estimate of $1680 based on extremely detailed inventory list. When they came to pick it up on 6/28/15, I had everything stacked in the corner of my studio and I asked if it looked like the same volume the estimator gave me on the binding estimate. The job manager said it looked to be the correct amount listed in the estimate and the estimate should be accurate, so I said ok to let them start loading and they had me sign some papers. Then, AFTER they loaded my belongings and locked the truck, he told me it took up more space than they expected and I actually needed to pay $3959 and he had a new written binding estimate for me with the new amount.  I argued and asked what my options were, but the job manager said unloading wasn't an option and I had agreed to allow them to load my belongings and now the truck was already en route to the next pick up and there was nothing he could do because the binding estimate was only an estimate.  I continued to argue so he phoned a supervisor who told him to deduct $50 but that was all they were going to  do.  The job manager then told me they expected 15% tip in cash on the actual cost and not the previous estimate and that they would be the ones moving my things off the truck and onto the semi and to consider that. Once the delivery truck arrived on 7/15/15 the driver told me he needed $75 more in cash to unload the truck for "stairs fee".  I said stairs were in the estimate, but he said if I wanted my stuff I had to pay. Then they THREW many of my boxes and belongings from the semi onto the grass and many boxes were broken open and a Jewelry armoir and a safe were broken. My mattress, box spring, bed frame, cooler, and Xmas tree were not in the delivery.  The driver said "it's not my problem. I'm a contracted semi driver and can't help you" and left.  After he left, I realized they had left a box of belongings that wasn't mine.  I contacted joe Russo repeatedly and after 2 months, they finally found my bed frame/mattress/box spring and delivered it on 9/20/15.  I waited until the bed was delivered to write my review for fear they wouldn't actually give it to me after writing this.  They didn't care about getting the box back that wasn't mine and I didn't know who it belonged to, so I gave it to the second delivery guy so hopefully it can get back to the warehouse for someone to claim.  They still haven't found the Xmas tree or cooler and they've ignored my repeated requests for how to get compensation for these things as well as the broken items.  WHAT THEY DID VIOLATES THE federal motor carrier safety association/DOT LAWS!! I have filed a complaint against them and recommend you do the same at nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov if you have had similar experiences with these crooks.  I also filed a complaint with the BBB against them.

These guys moved my family from Brooklyn, NY to South Florida & it was a flawless transition south!!! Highly recommend using them, the moving coordinator kept us inform throughout the entire process..& the loaders & unloaders worked tirelessly until the job was complete...bravo Stevens Relocation.
