Vance and his employee (I don't know how to spell his name) were awesome. I made a reservation I think only a day or two before my move, and told Vance I had to move from 9-1 because my condo had specific rules about reserving the service elevator. He showed up a few minutes early on moving day and he and the other guy were very professional and capable. They handled my sofa, which barely fit through the door to begin with! And I made sure to let them know that my dresser was a family heirloom, so they handled it with care but still moved it while the drawers were fully loaded! Nothing was damaged. They managed to do everything in about 2.5 hours. I was very satisfied with their work and would use them again if I move.

This moving service certainly did the job that was expected! Our situation: my girlfriend needed to move in a hurry (same day) so I was tasked with helping to find a mover that was comparable in price to the Dolly app. I called a few movers and their services were all out of her range. I contacted Vance and he called back immediately and took the job, although he had initially given his workers the day off.He was not able to make the original appointment, but he made up for it by keeping me posted via text before his arrival (his delay was acceptable because we called him at the last minute). He arrived and went right to work. Moving is his business, so he came in and told us what he needed to do and set right about doing it. He assured us that the move could be done within the budget and the time frame. We hoped they would only take the larger heavier items, but them came in and took everything, even the loose bags in the kitchen. He even reminded me twice to not help, the guys can handle it!They unloaded with the slightest of breaks, and Mr. Woods was present the whole time. This company is a great option for anyone looking for a quick move, and he is dependable. I would definitely contact him again, and refer him often.My only criticism is his smoking, I have a personal preference that workers/vendors don't smoke around customers. I don't hold it against him at all since its a personal preference, but I did want to mention it.NOTE: Mr. Woods does this on the side, and cares about his workers, so he may not accept an extremely large move or anything that involves 3+ floors up or down. If you need someone quick and dependable, call Vance Woods!

Vance and his team just helped my wife and I move into our apartment in the North Loop, and I have to say that we are exceptionally pleased. They exceeded our expectations, which are very high having lived in New York, DC, and Chicago (already twice).I think that if you're looking to move you're looking for value in price. They offer value, but you really want great service first.Not only were they extremely well priced, but when you first speak to Vance, you know that he and his team are pleased to provide exceptional customer service. What more could you expect from a person who speaks so cheerfully over the phone about being blessed to be an entrepreneur before you even meet him. This city needs that mindset more than ever.True, Vance doesn't have much of a web site. They don't really have much of a presence online right now. But Vance has just started this business, and I must say, having met him today, that he did an exceptional job, worked quickly and efficiently, and he was there to ensure that my move (which was very long and stressful) was easy to handle.I highly recommend that you understand that for the rate, the service, and the simple pleasantness of Vance and his team, you're not going to find a better value. Not only will you get a great team working with you, you'll also be helping to build a small business at a time that the moving industry needs more good teams and companies like Woods and Sons.

I was very disappointed after hiring these guys for a move. I called them to let them know we were ready for the arrive at the predetermined time, and they said that they needed another hour. After that hour, they said that they needed another two hours. Apparently, the first move that day took longer than expected. What's frustrating is that they never attempted to contact me earlier even though they knew that they would be late. At the end of the long day, I had to move myself before it got pitch black outside.I would never recommend these guys to anyone.

This gentleman, Vance, runs a first class business. I use him for smaller jobs twice a year, and he is professional, on time and does an excellent job at reasonable prices.  I know I can count on him and that means a great deal to me.  I wouldn't hesitate to use him for any type of move, large or small.
