Vance and his crew were absolutely clutch during our move today, turning a stressful moving fiasco (the company we had originally booked was a no-show) into a painless afternoon. Unlike other moving companies, Vance was able to work us into his schedule, same-day. He communicated his (very reasonable) rates clearly.  He arrived when he said he would.  He was friendly, helpful, and funny and his two-man crew was careful, quick, and professional. Five star recommendation -- will call again for any local moves.

This company is among the best in my book. I've moved several times and upon finding them I will never use another company. Their staff is prompt, efficient, courteous, and extremely thorough with the bare of your items. Again, their service is absolutely impeccable! Great pricing as well.

I cannot say enough good things about Vance and his team. He called me an hour before he arrived, as he said he would. He showed up on time and got right to work with his team. I ended up running into a major issue with where I was suppose to move into. Long story short - I had to find a new place to store my things. Vance was going to store my things for me and then come back out tomorrow to help me finish moving. Instead I was able to get a storage unit. Vance stayed with me the whole time while I was figuring out what to do. He was kind, patient and supportive. I highly recommend Woods and Sons for your next move.

I had a storage unit in Bronzeville that needed to be emptied out and unloaded in my new apartment in Kenwood. I had already gone through another mover for a few minor things at the old apt (beds, desk, etc.) but I decided I wanted someone local to get the bigger job done. I was fortunate enough to do a Yelp search and come across Vance. I told him I wasn't quite sure what was in there, but he told me to relax, and whatever it was, he and his team could handle it. Not one to sit idly by, I fretted and spent the first half wringing my hands worrying over precious family heirlooms and furniture that had been in the family for as long as I could remember. Moving has always been stressful, but this felt more intense. Generations of stuff from my family, which had remained untouched for years were now being moved, and honestly I was overwhelmed at the prospect of sifting through it. Vance looked at me (after my 3rd attempt to jump in and help the movers), and told me not to worry. I looked around, and realized I was in good hands. Having Vance there to supervise took the weight off of me, and his team worked especially hard to carefully move my stuff. I've moved a lot over the past 30 years, but this may be the first time I've ever felt like I could trust a set of movers to not mess up or do something that would cause me anxiety. I would not hesitate to use them again, or recommend them to anyone. Great team with a great leader!

The ineptitude is rampant at this company. Our first phone call went fine, and I booked them for a reasonable price. However, the second time around, I told the guy I had slightly more stuff than expected. I mean, a few more trashbags kind of thing, not more furniture. This man--who, by the way, kept condescendingly calling me 'darling'--told me they were going to need a third mover. Now, I only have one dorm room's worth of stuff. That just doesn't make sense. You do not need three grown men to move 8 boxes and a small loveseat. I wasn't going to pay for that, so I told him to keep it just two. Clearly, this guy wasn't listening to me, because instead of bringing just two, he brought zero. Oh yea, I mean he cancelled the appointment without confirming with me. He screwed over my entire week by being totally incapable of running a business. 0/5, would not recommend.
