I don't get some of the bad reviews, because these guys were awesome. Thank you to David and the other gentleman(can't remember his name) for getting us moved in less than 2 hours. We had a 3 bedroom apartment, and were able to get most of our stuff moved within the time-frame. They are very affordable, and nice guys. Highly recommended using them instead of the big moving companies.

These guys saved us. We knew we needed movers because we've tapped all our friend too many times and our furniture is over-sized.They were by far the cheapest and, to be honest, I didn't expect much. But Dan and Alejandro show up exactly on time in a graffitied box truck and hauled ass. They cleared out our two bedroom apartment in an hour and had us moved into our next place one hour later.These guys were machines. Super friendly and nice. They may not be full time movers but the fact that they go our giant couch out in 2 minutes was amazing. It took us forever to jam it up there.Plus, the fact that these guys are just working for cash so they can do what they love makes me happy to hire them. This way I'm not paying a big company a ton of money while the movers only make minimum wage.I can't say enough good things about these guys. They were professional and efficient and beyond affordable. I'll use them again and again.

I'm not someone who writes a lot of reviews, but I can't stand the idea of people hiring Dave. My first encounter with him: he ran 20 minutes late, wasted time mansplaining to me (insisting he couldn't move my furniture out of the room even though I assured him I had moved it in), and then ignored me throughout the rest of the move (he spoke exclusively with my male roommate as if I weren't in the room). He also wasted time fiddling with random junk left in his truck that should have been dealt with prior to arrival. Some of my furniture and belongings were damaged by the time they unloaded it into my alley (I didn't want to continue shelling out money for them to move the furniture up the stairs to my apartment--I just wanted Dave to leave).My girlfriend hired STM for her move today with the hopes that my experience was a fluke. I wasn't with her, but she reported to me that Dave arrived 20 minutes late, disrespected her request to leave her cats undisturbed in the bathroom, and left piss and ashes all over her toilet. He and his crew ripped her (very expensive) mattress, and I wouldn't be surprised to find other things damaged.Some nice things: they let my gf ride in the truck (one of the helpers rode in the back of the truck to accommodate her), they helped her with a difficult door key, and they didn't charge her over the 2 hours. The helper during my move was friendly, punctual, and kind. It's really too bad that Dave runs the show and he's the late, disrespectful one.For the record: the photos imply that they wrap your furniture; they do not.

While I'm sure this company is great for the day of the move, scheduling is not their strong suit. I had to call and email several times before I had the opportunity to speak with someone. When I called to confirm, they were unsure if they even had confirmed me. Rather than take the risk and wait for a confirmation, I went and found a different company to use. Starving Artists Movers came highly recommended from a trusted friend. I won't write off using them in the future so long as they can find a more thorough and comprehensive way to communicate and confirm moving times.

GREAT experience! My husband and I used them for our move recently. The three guys were lovely and efficient and patient. Moved our stuff from our huge 3 bed 2nd floor walk-up in Lakeview to Andersonville. Then back to Lakeview to retrieve more items. Then after moving in the 2nd batch of stuff they patiently went with us to store stuff in our storage unit. VERY affordable. VERY dependable. Will most definitely use them again. The owner of the company was great to handle everything with. All of the movers were very friendly and kind to our two young girls too. Thanks again.
