If i could give them 0 stars, I would. DO NOT EVER USE THEM! They are dishonest and deceitful and could care less if they ruin your belongings. I was even told that they were trained to finish the job as quickly as possible. They provided no supplies to protect my furniture. I had to request that they use the supplies I provided to wrap my television!!! When i pulled out a check to pay them, they told me they only accept cash. Really? Not even a check?! I had a very small move where I used my own truck and just had them help me unload. I had two very nice large leather couches. They carried them by the non-detachable back cushions rather than the frame and completely ripped the leather. When i approached them about paying for the damage, they told me their insurance did not cover my move because they did not use their own truck. This information was never communicated to me! When i corresponded with the manager, he spoke so rudely to me i could not even believe it. They run their business poorly, do poor quality work, and do not have any respect for their customers. You are better off tying a rope around everything and dragging it to your new place. The result will be about the same. They could not care less about you or your business - they just want their money and fast. Horrible and Rude. They WILL at least scratch every item you own in the move and then basically give you the finger and tell you it's not their problem.

I've used Starving Artists for my last two moves and have been pleased each time. They showed up on time both times and in my most recent move, worked through the first snow and possibly worst weather day without any issues.  I also appreciate that at the end of the day, their cost is exactly what they quoted.  They don't have hidden fees (for materials, etc) like other moving companies I've used in the past. They're always very friendly and easy to work with.  All of that at a good price, I'd recommend to anyone needing movers.

Dan & Dan were awesome - professional, efficient, calm.  My move happened in less than desirable circumstances and they really rolled with it and just got it done.  They had a positive attitude about everything.  They wasted no time!  The move was done is less time than I had anticipated.  I highly recommend Starving Artist Movers.

I wish I could give a higher rating as these guys were very friendly. They made some mistakes while moving and instead of owing up to it, did everything they could to weasel out of it, including lying, and personally attacking us. In the end we paid the agreed upon amount as the boss had made suggestions that if we didn't he "knew where we lived."       I totally understand why there are some really excellent reviews, and some really negative reviews. These guys were friendly and worked well, until poor planning and carelessness caused very expensive mistakes to be made. Had no mistakes been made, I'd give them a 5 star review. Had they just been honest about what happened and MERElY APOLOGIZED I'd give them 4 and a half (is that possible). It took quite a bit of despicable, slimy behavior and unwillingness to take even a little responsibility for me to realize that hiring these guys was like playing the lottery - you might win big or you might loose.    Unfortunately, during every move, even if you plan ahead and pack very carefully, something will go at least slightly wrong. You have to ask yourself if it's worth taking a chance that your move will go absolutely perfectly. Because, with these guys, that seem very friendly, if there are any problems, they'll sell you down the river in a heartbeat, and you'll have no recourse.   I think the name says more about the company than they intended. A person that is actually starving will be friendly to you if you give them food, but if put in a difficult situation, they'll kill you for your food instead. Has moving ever been a difficult situation?   UPDATE:    It's a month later now, and I happened to notice my neighbors hired these guys to help them move (you can't miss their van (it has lots of strange symbols painted on it that people in my new neighborhood mistook as anti-Semitic (what a first impression to make).  They had booked way ahead and specially requested the morning as they had to work in the evening. Starving Artist showed up 6 hours late without even calling to say they were behind schedule. They said they tried to call but couldn't reach anyone.  6 hours. Imagine if on your moving day the movers were scheduled to come at 9AM and didn't show up and didn't answer the phone. By ten o'clock I would have assumed they weren't coming. Right? They didn't arrive until 3PM, and in the end, they were unable to finish the move because it got to late. In my last building another neighbor had failed to move out by just 1 day  and because he wasn't out of his apartment on time, he had to pay an extra 2 months rent + pay to store furniture for the next tenant AND pay for their hotel AND MEALS. Just  because his movers didn't show up on time.
