Some moving companies make you think relocating is actually fun. Mark my words, it’s not! I have had some seriously bitter experiences with fancy moving companies. So this time I decided to hire an old-school moving company for my move from Davenport to Seattle. The company was Western van lines. They are not on the billboards but they have been in the business for long enough. Turns out, these guys know how to do their jobs properly and they are not just out for your cash. All the issues I had with my previous movers, like hourly rate, efficiency, delivery delay etc. weren’t even issues with Western van lines. They train their men very well and it’s the job at hand that matters the most to them.

I had to relocate urgently for a new job in Seattle, WA. I hired Western van lines because they were the first company I called and they seemed reasonable enough. Frankly, I was expecting problems and issues just like any move. When the men arrived at my Kansas City home, I thought they were very professional and well equipped. The packing and loading was completed efficiently and safely. They even helped with the furniture I was going to leave behind by providing me with the phone number of a very good local charity company. They delivered my valuables right on schedule in Seattle. Call it luck - I got the best company to handle my move on my very first call.

This company is not honest and upfront about anything. Our goods took 16 business days to be delivered. They also broke items and lost screws to 1 of our beds and refuse to call me back. Avoid this company!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

They will:

- Lose and damage your items
- Outsource the work to anyone, as they are purely a broker. THEY WILL TELL YOU THEY DONT OUTSOURCE
- Hit you with mass hidden fees, then demand payment before you can dispute them by only referring to the contract you signed (SO READ IT CAREFULLY) and refusing to make delivery if not paid in full.
- You sales rep will not engage with you in any way after the deal is closed
- No one will tell you who owns the business and they will reiterate that the owner, under no circumstance, communicates with customers

It’s the second time that I move with this company and this time I used their storage service which price was pretty fair. They took their time to move everything preventing the items to get damaged. Movers were kind and respectful, they packed and wrapped everything with the materials they brought. I did not have any damages not even at the storage place. I don’t have any complaints at all I'd say I’m satisfied.
