Worked with Brian Peterson on two moving projects.  For the first -- an intrastate move from Cupertino, CA to Pacific Palisades, CA. in Spring 2016 -- we used Mont-Rose.  It was uneventful -- a rarity in the moving industry.  For the second, because of unique storage requirements, he referred us to the mother ship (United Mayflower) for a containerized move from Morgan Hill, CA to Nashville, TN in Summer 2017.  Brian is a stand up guy who truly adds value to the process.  His 25+ years experience in the industry is evident by his wealth of knowledge and best practices he gladly shared with us.  Highly recommend him and Mont-Rose.

Warning to all of you out there.  Don't let this company move your piano!  They said they were experts at moving a piano, and my piano was damaged as a result of their moving skills.  The sound board was damaged, and the keys were all jammed together, so that the piano wouldn't play.  This is an expensive instrument!  To top it off, the supervisor/driver lied to me by telling me that within a couple of days their dispatch service would be sending a piano repair company to take care of this.  The piano would have had to take a big blow to get this badly out of alignment.  When I called several days later after no word from them, they said they didn't know anything about sending a repairman.  They said their insurance person wouldn't even look for 30 days!  I certainly don't like to be lied to, and I wanted my piano to play.  I was very distressed about this especially after Frank said they would take such good care of my piano.  He was very friendly on the sales end, but not so accommodating on the other side.  It cost me $1,600 to have it repaired, and they covered nothing.  They said because it was internal damage, there was no coverage.  Last time I checked, the piano keys were on the outside of the piano.  In addition, there was damage done to small breakables with boxes that were smashed that were marked fragile, small items broken and patio tile table damaged.  The moving team seemed in a big rush to get the job finished, and they didn't offer adequate protection to our marble in the doorway,  I had to ask for more protection, and they put down some plywood to cover the floors, but not nearly enough.  I didn't feel they were careful movers, and this was evidenced by the damage to the piano.There are still more boxes to open, and I'm hoping I don't find more damage.  This has been a terrible experience, so I warn you to not use this company for your move.

I held off with my review because they had my stuff. Now that we completed our move, here it goes...-This is the first time I have ever had to hire a moving company. I've always packed myself, rented a u-haul and recruited friends to help. This time I couldn't because I've become disabled, my husband got a job all the way on the other side of the state (San Jose to San Diego move) so he had to leave to start his new job and we needed to get our house on the market and sold fast! I couldn't do it myself. It was time to hire someone to help do what I couldn't.-Mont-Rose was not cheap. We asked for a full service whole house move, storage while we figured out where we were going to live next, the long distance trip down and then an unpack. We accepted the high quote because we were under the understanding that they took care of everything and were professional. -What came next was freaking terrible and brought me to tears. When the guys showed up, they verbally berated me for not packing more myself. Hello, we had hired them for a full house move! I had already donated items, junked and given away a ton of stuff on CL. They didn't even have the full amount that was agreed to pack. And it wasn't like the foreman was even there the first day to clarify. I was completely beyond exhausted in my condition and with what I had accomplished to fight back. For what they charged me, they should have been the ones with their act together. -Speaking of the foreman, he was a piece of work. Second day, 3 hours late, starts giving me a sheet full of add-ons that he claims were not part of the quote. I was horrified. But the bad behavior doesn't stop there. The guy took a smoke break inside the truck with my belongings, sitting on my belongings.. puffing away! -They obviously didn't send enough people to do the work and the people were there acted like they didn't want to be there. They moved in slow motion glaring at me while I had to coordinate other things like getting the realtor going and logistics related to it.-Moving day they weren't done packing. The people loaded the truck were really nice and worked hard but again, chaos. -Let's talk about the mess. After the truck left it was dark, I had no lamps and went to sleep. When I woke up with the morning sun, what I found looked like the aftermath of a frat party with things strewn all over the floor after they took off.. spanning the entire house. I had to call my sister for help cleaning up and finishing packing. After they were 'done' they had and hadn't packed strange things. One shoe packed but one not. Half of my son's Transformers still laying on the floor. But they packed the carbon monoxide detector?! Curtain rods that we had taken down to be packed, not packed, etc. -On the back side of our move we are discovering how incompetent these people were who packed us. Mis-marked boxes to the wrong rooms. Completely random stuff from other rooms shoved in the boxes. Want to find your  every day eating utensils? Well 2 forks are in this box, 4 are in another box and the other 2 are in a completely different box. Forget the spoons and knives. They are somewhere completely different. They were originally in a silverware tray that could have been wrapped as a group.-Things were damaged due to their bad packing! We have just started unpacking and we are finding that someone threw a really heavy item in a box, on top of another box marked fragile and busted some family heirlooms. -The unloading crew was extremely nice and professional. They did put the furniture (beds back together for us) but I was also put to work doing inventory on boxes/items coming off of the truck and directing where everything went. I don't know if they were short handed or if this is normal but for how much they charged us, it seems like they should have had another person on the job. -A hall light was broken when they came around a corner without checking clearance because they were short on time. This was the crappiest moving experience of my life (and I have moved plenty of times in my life!) and we paid a small fortune for it. You are seriously better off saving money and doing it yourself.

Exceptional and above and beyond experience. My move was local in San Jose and the moving team was more than awesome!! Justin, Christopher and Ignacio were hard working and great to work with! They helped pack the last minute items and asked where things should go - every step of the way. Putting the furniture back together was important to me and they made sure that happened. I'm so very thankful for all they did to make my move a success!!

I recently moved from CA to TX and called Mont/Rose for a quote (among a couple other companies). Frank came out to do a quote and throughout a couple weeks with my numerous quotes comparing multiple companies, Frank was always patient and answered all my questions. His response time was fantastic and when I needed storage on the TX end because of a delay in us getting there, he arranged it all and tried to get me the best rate possible. The day I requested storage, he had trouble getting ahold of the TX side, and even called and left a message saying he would follow up with them the next day. So once I signed the contract, I expected to receive terrible customer service.I have never been more wrong. Lynn at Mont/Rose helped me get a couple wardrobe boxes into my car from their San Jose location, and made sure my details were all arranged. They have an online system where you can also view updated contract details, packing lists and tips for making for smooth move. I reviewed them, and glad I did, because I forgot about batteries not being able to sit in the heat for long periods :)The day of the move, Charles was the main man on the move and he was AMAZING. I was super nervous about our standing floor mirror because they didn't have an extra box for it, but he assured me he would wrap it up as soon as he got to the warehouse. Everything he put into the truck was well packaged, even though it was just going to back to the warehouse to be loaded onto a bigger truck to make the multiple state move. So we get to Texas and down to the very last item (milk crate for garage storage) made it! The ONLY damage we experienced was my yoga foam roller was a little dented and our ironing board cover had a couple scrapes in the fabric. No big deal, I could have packed those better myself. That was amazing to me. Not one glass broken, no issues with furniture or anything. awesome. My last move was not this smooth.DEFINITELY RECOMMEND MONT/ROSE. They are awesome- thanks to everyone who helped work on our move. We were blown away by how painless it all was!!
