History

Established in 2012. We opened the San Diego location in September 2012. Since then, we've quickly expanded to 10 trucks, more than 35 employees and a second North County location in San Marcos. We've helped more than 5000 families and companies move their homes and businesses. Our customers continue to help us grow that number the old-fashioned way: through repeat business and word-of-mouth. While it's true that we are larger than our name may suggest, we have not lost our passion for our local San Diego community or our commitment to exceed each customer's expectations on move day.Our team, led by husband-and-wife duo Pedro and Alicia, uses «the Grandma Rule®» as a guideline for approaching each move. The Grandma Rule means to treat each customer the way you would want your own grandmother to be treated. When we aren't moving, you will find us heavily involved in our beautiful San Diego community. Our charitable efforts include annual Movers for Moms and Movers for Military collection drives.

I would give them no stars if I could. Word of wisdom, RUN!!! DONT SIGN ANYTHING WITH THESE PEOPLE AND JUST HIRE SOMEONE ELSE! My purpose in writing this is to warn families from using Two Men and Truck in San Diego area (we had used them in Chicago and had great experiences years ago). We usually move ourselves but decided it was time to take some stress off and let professionals do it. SO WRONG! From start to finish the entire experience was a nightmare. The customer service was bad (never called me back to confirm our move time/day), then called the morning of after they were late and said they had us for the wrong day and the person who scheduled us no longer worked there (probably a lie now that we think back to it because they don't own up to any mistakes). They squirmed up enough people to be 7 hours late moving us from a 2 bedroom condo to a 3 bedroom home about 7 miles away.  I'm pretty sure Alex and Ace in particular purposely work slow to get paid more. It took FOREVER. They joked and played with my husbands things while moving us. At first I was thinking they were just having fun while working, but then my mother and I started to realize they were full of it and just delaying the process on purpose. Most everything was boxed up already as they were so late we made sure everything was organized, ready to go.  I will give them credit for moving a heavy refrigerator, but at the cost of it being so dinged up we had to get a new one and use it as an "extra" in the garage. Aside from that, they broke a $100 lamp and the whole side glass panel of my great grandmothers china closet I inherited. I was in tears after they left I was so upset but we know mistakes happen. I really did understand, until later on we realized how badly we'd be taken advantage of. They offered us $60 for both pieces to be replaced (it cost over $300 for both to be replaced since then). No fault of our own. Pretty ironic that we've moved that thing ourselves 7 times through 4 generations and we finally pay for movers and they carelessly break it. At 11 PM at night and over 2 hours more than ever needed, we were finally into the new house. Ace and Alex said they felt so bad about what they broke and we had been so understanding and nice, Alex was going to not charge us for the deposit of $278. That he "wished he could do more", but that's all he could do in light of messing up the day earlier and breaking our things. They overcharged us and the management even admitted it didn't look right on the copy of the agreements and the adjustment of the $278 was there, but that their mover Alex said that's just his scribble and notes. The story just didn't add up, because he was clearly not being honest. THEY ARE A TOTAL SCAM, WILL TAKE HOURS LONGER THAN NEEDED TO MILK MONEY FROM YOU, AND BREAK YOUR IMPORTANT VALUABLES!! PLEASE DON'T USE THEM!! We've been in contact with the BBB, our bank and my uncle who is an attorney to figure out how to stop this company from doing this to others and get our money we are owned from the difference on our copy of the receipt back. You can read reviews with the same issues and experiences...this is a real deal scam company!! It really isn't about the money, I think we are just disgusted that management simply turns the other way and encourages this way of business. We basically were overcharged for a total of $900 instead of $625 and had to pay for a new refrigerator and replace the broken lamp and have a professional glass worker fix and fit my china closet ($600 +). Looking forward to the generic and fake congenial reply from marketing on here!

This is the first time I've ever hired movers by the hour and it's been a lesson learned. I blame myself first.... I didn't research. I am single... Basic furniture- couch, love seat, dining table/chairs and bed. My new location was only a 20 min drive. At the end I was charged 6 hrs....almost $800!! I'm sorry but if I had known it was going to be that much I wouldn't have hired then. The movers were very nice but definitely getting paid by the hour! I felt like they weren't organized and were on their cell phone a lot... Anyways.... Just giving an honest review.

This company is run by criminals. They arrived and got high on the job eating marijuana infused edibles, and a using a vape pen. They quoted 10hours without even looking at the place or asking any questions. It took them over 14hours since they were high and got tired, and still charged me.  I reported it to the management and they said it was my problem not theres.  They were playing with my items, body slamming them, and yelling wrestling terms. They took multiple unauthorized smoke breaks numerous times throughout the day. One of the 4 men held back in the truck the rest of the move after getting overly high, leaving me with 3 men instead of the 4 they still charged me for.  They called me last second when they were on the way to my new residency and told me they were going to reschedule for the next day. I explained I had no hotel, food or water, and that my phone was at 2%, they said they don't care. I spent the night in my new home sleeping on the floor with no pillow or blanket. They also walked over all my electronics when in the truck.  They were supposed to show up at 8am the next day to unload my stuff, when nobody arrived I called them. They explained that they would not return any of my stuff to me until I paid them for the day prior. I explained that extortion, and they said if I want my stuff back I have to pay. The contract stated I paid at the end of the job. They left all beds disassembled, glass pieces everywhere, they even completely broke two of the beds. They left items at my old apartment and refused to go back and get them, they said "nah i'm not doing that shit". These people are the worst criminals I've met, do yourself a favor and never use them unless you like extortion, having your stuff broken, and being treated less than human.

I literally laughed out loud.  I called to request someone come out to give me an estimate.  Giselle stated they only give quotes over the phone.  I explained I was moving out of state (2000mi).  Before she even knew what I had to move she said "your move will start at $14,000.00."  That's right, you read that correctly.  FOURTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS (minimum) to move 30 boxes and a coffee table.  That was by far the most ridiculous and shortest conversation I have ever had.
