Movers I hired failed to show up so literally on the day of the move I had to find a moving company.  I called these guys and the guy who answered the phone was helpful (but slooooooow).  He managed to find a couple of kids (and I do mean kids) to come at the last minute.  The movers were a couple of young boys who are well-meaning but not terribly efficient so you end up spending a lot of time watching them try to figure out how best to stack stuff and maximize space.  Sam was very good, Chris seemed to stand around a lot.  The worse part is that Childs charges $80 per hour for 2 men and they only pay the boys $10 per hour.  So basically that's a 400% profit for the company.  The boys are working hard and getting royally screwed.  Frankly, you always roll the dice when you move because you never know who you're going to get or whether they'll show up at all, but I wouldn't use this company again.

Sam and his grandson's have helped us move twice now. Once, when another mover left us in the lurch, Sam had two of his grandson's come by on a Sunday, last minute, and they helped move 3/4 of our household into a storage unit. They were punctual, organized and quick - without sacrificing the corners of all of our furniture! The whole thing took about 4 hours. Then about a month later, Sam and 3 movers took our items from storage and moved us into our new house. This took about 6 hours. Again - they did an amazing job. Organized, quick and they didn't scratch walls, ding furniture or break anything. It was a hot day - but you wouldn't know it from the way they worked. My husband and I were impressed. We will hire them in a split second if we have to move anything.

I needed a couple desks moved from one office to another. We agreed on a time that they would come to pick up the desks, and I planned my schedule based on that. I had even paid for the move ahead of time.At the last minute, they called and said they would not be coming to do the job. They had overbooked themselves, and signed up for more jobs than they could accommodate. I got my payment back, but I had planned my schedule on the assumption that they would live up to their end of the deal, which they did not. I had to start all over looking for a mover, scheduling everything, etc.Don't use this company. They make appointments that they can't keep and agree to jobs that they can't do, and they won't tell you until the last minute.

I've used this company to move 3 times and two of thte times have not been so great.  I should have not used them this last time and i will never use them again.  I've been meaning to post this for a while.  The 2 guys (the muscle) are great, they are polite and hardworking, but their grandfather (i believe) likes to urinate outside.  Which was weird when it happened the first time, but we had a big back yard and we were moving out so i didn't really think much of it.  Plus it was a super busy day so i forgot about it until it happened again.  My toddler and myself caught him peeing against our new house!  We don't really have a backyard at our new place but he decided to pee against our house instead of the against fence.  Twice!  In two different places!  He could have asked to used the bathroom inside.  I confronted one of the grandsons and he apologized and offered to clean it up, which i declined and cleaned up myself.  So be warned, if you use this company beware.

This is a multi-generation family-run moving company based in Highland Park. We hired them for a local move from a 1-BR apartment to a 2-BR. They were punctual, careful, professional and all in all did a great job!
