We called several moving companies for estimates.  All of them quoted an hourly rate for a crew and truck.  Melia was the only company who sent out a consultant to give us a written bid.  We had a 3 bedroom home full of furniture, and they quoted 2 trucks and 7 men.  We packed most of our own boxes, but Meila suggested we let them package our tv's, art and grandfather clock.We have used other companies who send out 3 or 4 men, one truck, and they end up making several trips, work all day and into the night, and never seem to finish.  They get tired, disgusted and want to quit before the job is finished, AND we get tired and disgusted and swear there must be a better way.  Meila Moving is a better way.Melia made our move so easy.  On moving day, 3 trucks and 7 men showed up.  They all worked to load the first truck, then parked that truck and pulled up another empty one and they all worked together to load it.  They padded everything with cardboard, then wrapped it tight with shrink wrap.  They had all three trucks loaded in 3 hours.  We drove to our new home, and they took the time to place everything in the correct rooms, assembled all the furniture, and cleaned up their mess.  There were no hidden charges, no surprises, and no damage.  These guys are true professionals.  They all spoke English.  Don't waste you money hiring some college kids or day laborers with a truck.  This was a great experience.  Call Melia Moving at 713-683-8585 and ask Rosemary to send someone to give you a written estimate.  They are outstanding!!

We are very happy with our move last week. From the initial contact to the final box coming in was a pleasure. The 3 movers were very nice & efficient. We will definitely use them again for our next move!!

Booked Melia Movers about a month in advance. Had a hard time finding anyone that would agree to move my 800+ LB gun safe but they quickly agreed so I was sold. On the day of the move the three gentlemen arrived 10 minutes early which was refreshing. They got straight to work once we showed them where everything was. They wrapped my furniture in plastic and made sure everything was taken care of! They were timely and professional. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone needing movers!

Johnnie T Melia is an excellent company and they are experts in what they do! I had many very old, large antiques (several hundred years old) and they were moved with care and precision that you just don't find with any moving company. They made a very stressful experience calm and pleasant and they were so willing to help with the extra stuff I didn't get to pack. They had great attitudes and smiles on their faces...even after climbing stairs about 50 times carrying heavy stuff!! I highly recommend them and they are worth every penny!!

I had a very good experience with JT Melia. They came out and assessed my cost. I paid a little more after pick up due to the size of storage I needed but they were very nice, knowledgeable and courteous through the whole process. I feel comfortable with them storing my entire home in-between moves. I felt I was treated very well.
