I never wrote a review but had to after this horrendous experience. Not sure how this company got the high reviews it has but this was an awful experience. I am moving out of state and was looking to donate a few items of furniture. I came across this company through the Goodwill website saying that they picked up items for donation for a fee. After calling them I was left with a vague quote. They said that pricing is based on the volume the furniture occupies in the truck. The quote they gave me was so absurdly high that I initially told them I wasn't interested. But whoever I was talking to assured me they would give me a fair quote after looking at the items in person. I should have known better but instead I agreed to having them come by. Two guys arrived in a standard truck with a little trailer attached to it. They started hauling away the biggest item and then started telling me about pricing.  Not only was the pricing based on the volume that your stuff occupies in the truck but also on time. And the price for filling up half the tiny trailer they brought was ridiculously high. I told them there was no way I was going to pay that amount. After making a call and some texts to their supervisor, they said that the price was firm. After going back and forth about pricing and having already hauled the largest item, I wasn't going to fight them about unloading the item and forgetting everything. So I ended up paying a ridiculous fee (down from the original quote but still ridiculously high) to have two pieces of furniture hauled for donation. I  have hired movers before to actually move an entire apartments contents across town for cheaper than this. All they literally did was haul two pieces of furniture for donation and this cost me as much as one of the pieces of furniture  brand new. By far one of the worst experiences I have ever had and can't even believe these guys are in business. You're better off posting furniture for free on Craigslist where people will eagerly take them off your hand. I thought I was doing something nice by giving some business and donating some furniture. But in the end, using these guys is not worth it at all.

At first I was hesitant to use a service called College Hunks, but they gave me the best quote to lug out my Futon and mattress so I went for it. The service was easy to book online and was quickly called to confirm my appointment only 2 days later. The day before my appointment, I was called to reconfirm my reasonable wait window of 2 hours. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the guys showed up 10 minutes after my window ended. I wish they had called me sooner to give me a heads up. However, when they arrived, the student movers were friendly and courteous and apologized for the delay. They quickly moved my things and went on their way. I'd call College Hunks again if I ever needed to remove more of my things. Also, I appreciate that they don't call my belongings "junk", even if that's where it belongs. They donate to the local Goodwills and shelters too.

I liked the 2 hour window, the confirmation phone call the night before, and the phone call when they were headed my way. The guys were pleasant and professional, and they carefully explained how the pricing worked.
