We recently moved to Dallas from Chicago.  NDMS (in particular Ketti Lutz) was responsible for our move (and worked with Holland in Chicago and United Van Lines to get this done).  Multiple items were badly packed and broken.  We had a "full pack, unpack" service.Items that should have been individually wrapped were just thrown together (glass items and framed pictures). For many picture frames, they ripped the hooks and metal parts off the back (presumably so they could fit more into a small space and not wrap things individually).  One picture frame literally fell apart in my hands when I picked it up (surely something the movers would have noticed was an issue).  The company who did the packing in Chicago (Hollander) clearly did a substandard and lazy job.  I had also asked them NOT to pack the smoke detectors and smoke alarms, but they did anyhow.  The delivery to Dallas was also something of disaster.  The movers damaged the drywall in our guest house and the broke a railing on the stairs).  At one point, one of the movers noticed that a box had a big gash in the side. He pointed this out to me, and one of the other movers was mad at him for doing so.  Only one of the three people who moved things into the house seemed competent.  The other two were slobs. At one point, I was standing near the front door and one of these guys comes from behind me, steps in front of me and spits outside.  He didn't even say "excuse me sir, may I cut in front of you and spit in your garden?").  When the unpackers came the next day, they even expressed dismay at how badly (and in some cases dangerously) items had been packed.   Another problem was the items from different rooms were packed in the same box (so when we unpacked a  box upstairs we would find something that was meant to go in the downstairs living room).  Some items were also obviously broken after then unpack, but the unpackers did not mention this (including some family heirlooms).  As you may have gathered, we had a horrible experience with North Dallas Moving and Storage.  We could have gone through their complaint process to have them reimburse for the damage, but we decided to take the hit on this as we really did not want to deal with these guys further.

Eek, is right. Moved from Dallas to Northern California on August 25th. Had two packers arrive right on time. Friendly enough. Seemed to get it done without a lot of farting around. Packed everything, including some trash. Also have to say that their packing practices are poor. They used TONS of packing paper. Packed small amounts in huge boxes. These guys have to get paid by the box. We didn't pay the bill, it was part of a relocation package for a new job. No joke I found one Mickey Mouse pot holder in a big box full of packing paper. Then things get bad once the truck comes the next day. Two men to load. I'm pretty sure these guys were working on some kind of a release program. No kidding, it was that bad. Thugs would be too kind. They decided to take a nice dump in our bathroom and helped themselves to drinks in our fridge all without asking. Also caught one poking around in our stuff. Not good. One the other end here in California we were very please with the movers moving us in our new home. Not sure where the damage was done (Dallas, storage or California) but sadly we did suffer some loss. Broken dinning room table and chairs, couch and some kitchen stuff. Sorry but I'm grading low. I thought they did an awful job. I would expect it if they were some college kids making some weekend money but this is a company that does nothing but move. Thumbs down. I recommend using someone else.

We moved last fall to Highland Village, TX and used North Dallas Moving & Storage.  What a great decision that was!!  Moving has always been so stressful in the past, but this time everything went soo smooth.  They covered all the wood flooring and all furniture was completely padded.  There was not one piece of furniture damaged or one box missing.  They even gave me suggestions on where to place furniture in the master bedroom, which turned out to be a better way to situate the room.  I would definitely recommend this company to my friends and family.  Who know moving could actually be stress free!!

Extremely pleased. Dick Abernathy came to our house and gave us a full quote in less than an hour. Their pricing was almost half of what we had expected to pay for a full service move including unpacking. They were also very flexible with us. We were 'homeless' for 4 weeks after our house sold because the house we were building was not ready. They kept our furniture on a semi-truck for us at a very low cost so we did not have to pay to move everything into storage. Nothing was broken and everything was accounted for. The movers were very respectful and flexible as we made some last minute changes moving things around in the new house. Pay for the unpack! Sheryl the coordinator was great working with us as our closing date on the new house changed 4 different times. Not sure why all the negative reviews because that was definitely not my expeirence !

North Dallas Moving and Storage did a great job for me.  They moved my house and not a single item was damage.  Sheryl was my coordinator and she is the best in the business.  I would recommend this company to anyone.
