This is literally my first online review ever. I am that upset.I used Joy moving and storage for my move from IA to NV July 2015. When they arrived in NV the delivery guys realized they were supposed to stop in California for a delivery before stopping at our place. They proceeded to offload this other delivery on the street in order to get to our shipment. We had to get on the truck to point out where we thought our shipment started. While reloading the California shipment they kept finding our stuff mixed in and kept coming back to our door to give us more stuff. They even had to turn back after being in the road for almost 2 hours on the way to California to give us missing parts of our bed frame. Fast forward 4 days later when we finished unpacking and I realize that a duffel bag with over $1,000 worth of hair extensions is missing. It has been over a month and half, numerous phone calls, repeating the same story, and they cannot locate my bag. I finally get a message from someone from the claims dept and when I call back and go over the whole story for the 100th time I am told that the boss is out of the office but I should hear back about compensation soon. Fast forward another week and half and I hear nothing so I call back. There is no record that the claims dept has been notified and I am told to go online to file a claim. I am then told that compensation is going to be 60 cents per pound. Well hair extensions in a duffel bag do not weigh much and 60 cents a pound is pretty much an insult. I ended the conversation on that note. I will just have to swallow the cost to replace my items. Please don't make this mistake. Find someone else...........

DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY! They damaged two pieces of expensive furniture and dropped a 200 lb dresser on my stairs, cracking the stair. The best part is they don't want to take responsibility for their damage. I'm still battling trying to file a claim. If you go with this company be prepared to have to buy new furniture after your move.

Terrible experience! I used them for one move and they were great, the second move was terrible. First, the truck broke down and I had to call them and find out what was going on. They made no attempt to contact me or offer me any kind of discount. I rescheduled the move and it took three hours longer than quoted. My walls are scrapped, furniture is broken and I'm missing a brand new tool kit. The guys were nice but not equipped for three flights of stairs. I won't be using them again.

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. If I could give 0 stars, I would. They intentionally lied to me repeatedly, damaged my furniture, left my belongings in the rain over the weekend, and acted COMPLETELY unprofessionally. There are 16 Better Business Bureau complaints against this company.I was told they were a small moving company and would move my belongings on my own truck and could guarantee date of delivery. When the movers came and packed my stuff, they said they were going to go back to the office before leaving. This made me nervous, so I SPECIFICALLY asked/ confirmed that they weren't going to go and transfer my belongings to another truck, etc. They ASSURED me they were not. I drove 11 hours in a day (exhausting) to make sure I was there to meet the movers on time to move in. They called for my CC number about 7 hours into my drive, which I gave to them and on which they charged the full amount. Not 30 minutes after I paid in full, the same guy, Joe, called to tell me the drivers hadn't left yet and the move-in was going to be delayed by an entire day. I told them fine, but that I HAD to be moved in (completely finished) by 5:00pm on Friday, because my building does not allow move-ins after 5:00pm or on the weekends (very strict policy). I was annoyed at this point because I had a non-refundable hotel room booked at my destination so I had to drive the entire 11 hours anyways. Thursday comes and goes and I am expecting to move in on Friday morning at 10, I was told I would receive a call an hour and a half before the movers arrive. I call at 10:15 to see if I just missed the call, and Joe pretends like he doesn't know why they haven't called and says they should be there by now. He calls back and says the move-in is going to be more like 12:00pm, fine. Five minutes later I get a call from a RANDOM guy asking for the address of my apartment. Turns out they contracted my stuff out to someone who DIDN'T WORK FOR THEIR COMPANY and my stuff was now on a massive semi-truck with someone else's entire house-full of stuff. Oh, did I mention that when I asked them to take inventory when moving out they said they didn't need to because my stuff was the only stuff on the truck? Thank goodness I numbered my boxes anyways. The semi-truck guy tells us he was just contracted Friday morning and he is only an HOUR into the drive. At this point we were well-aware that my move was not going to happen on Friday (the semi-truck driver was honest and told us this as well), but Joy Moving kept trying to tell me it would happen (even though it was impossible for him to arrive before 5:00pm). Finally they admit it won't happen, but the semi-truck driver has to deliver the other stuff on Saturday morning at 8:00am. So, he delivers my stuff to the Joy Moving warehouse on Friday night. They put in it a shoddy truck and let it sit out IN THE RAIN ALL WEEKEND. Meanwhile I am staying in a hotel this entire time that they keep jerking me around (expensive!). I started a new job on Monday (was supposed to move in Thursday) and did not have any of my belongings so I had to go buy new clothes, talk about stressful! They told me they would move me in at 10:00 on Monday morning. I had to have my family drive 5 hours to be there for the movers since it was my first day of work. After all this, they didn't show up until 12:00pm (with no explanation). My bed frame and bookshelf had water damage (both were ruined) and my dining table had scratches all over the legs. After all of my hotel bills and my damaged furniture, not to mention their grossly unethical behavior, they had the nerve to offer me a $300 settlement (which they sent a full two months after they said they would send it and after I moved in). This company should go out of business. I have never in my life been treated this way or had such an outrageously terrible experience with a company. Since this happened I have spoken with several other people who have similar horror stories with them. They showed me and my belongings absolutely zero respect and are complete crooks.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! I hired colonial van lines to find me a reputable moving company to move me from Iowa to Washington.  It has been the worst experience of my life!! They picked my furniture up on January 27 and it's now March 2 and I still do not have my stuff.  They stated they had truck issues ect.  The staff has been rude and demands cash ONLY at pick up and drop off.  I'm so hurt by what I've experienced that I can't even place it into words.  They promised deadlines and never met them, showed up late for pick up, never gave my a receipt for the money I gave them, never gave me extra copy's of the pages I signed at pick up.  The list goes on and on.  I really hope you took that this company has multiple 1 star reviews and take our word!! Save yourself the headache and heartache!! Mike the dispatch man will be kind to you in the beginning and when he can not fulfill his promises become nasty to you.  Do not trust theses people with your things!  Pleas take my advice!  I have paid money in hotel costs not having furniture for a month and they don't care no compensation is given.  They want cash and to move on!! BEWARE!
