I was dreading moving. Everyone says that moving in NYC is one of life's biggest stressors ... BUT. JP Urban Moving honestly made it so easy and seamless. I knew in advance all the other reviews are incredibly positive....and I can say that this company lives up to their reputation. From the beginning, their customer service was exceptional. The booking process was so easy. It was hard for me to determine just exactly how much stuff I was going to be moving but they still provided me with a quote that baked in a lot of flexibility. AND it was definitely one of the most reasonable quotes I received. When the moving team showed up, they were so friendly, professional and helpful. They were SO efficient and worked SO hard. I am honestly so impressed. They completed the move much faster than anticipated, not taking any breaks. These guys are good. I also appreciated that they wrapped up my breakables and larger pieces of furniture with great care. After this experience I will never use anyone else in the NY area. Thank you to the whole team -- y'all exceeded all my expectations and I'm glad you're here! - Claire

I did extensive research on both Yelp and asked friends/coworkers for recs for my move within NYC. I went with JP Urban based on excellent reviews, personal recommendation, transparent pricing and fast, no-BS communications. In fact, their movers had the exact same efficiency, professionalism, and great attitude as the customer service. I'm writing this review because in the many times I have moved in my life, I've never witnessed a more solid team of hardworking guys who worked at lightning speed, carefully and cheerfully, to move me from a cramped, furniture filled apt in Manhattan into another (slightly larger shoebox). My husband and I watched in amazement as the four men furiously wrapped, taped, and hauled our stuff out with ease (we stopped trying to help once we realized we were slowing them down and getting in their way). It was like they were in a timed race! When we discovered unexpectedly that we needed to break down a giant IKEA armoire to fit it out the door, the lead said "no problem" and went straight to work disassembling it carefully and methodically. Every single piece of that, and all of our other furniture, was securely wrapped and arrived in perfect condition in our new place. The move took an hour longer than expected due to the IKEA armoire, but I have no complaints. Tip: rent gorilla bins (stackable plastic crates) separately. These are much easier and faster to move than boxes. Keep in mind this company doesn't offer free wardrobe boxes; and they will charge you for wrapping, TV boxes, etc. that you may need for transporting furniture. They are transparent about this and that it's not included in the pricing. They also charge for a COI (certificate of insurance) for apartment buildings; which other moving companies do not. Overall I highly recommend JP Urban and would hire them again without reservation.

This was my first time working with a moving company. The experience was great! The job was done efficiently and respectfully. I was  really happy with my decision. All the crew is amazing!. All the process went smoothly, from the fist contact and quote (extremely accurate) and the whole process with information about arrival. Highly recommended.

Today was the third move I've done with JP Urban and they are simply the best moving company around. Hands down! I got the recommendation to use them through word of mouth and I can see why.: They are always polite, professional, quick and hard working. They are also really smart movers - they use the four men efficiently in an assembly line fashion for actual moving of furniture and they all load in and help when it comes to packing stuff up. They also tend to come in around 30% cheaper than other companies. On my first move with them, they worked so fast, they even came in under the estimate! I seriously cannot say enough good things about them. We were thrilled, again, with our moved today from NYC to Westchester. They are just everything you want from movers!!!

After 20 years in a studio, I was to move my belongings into storage in June. I'm probably not the first person to vastly underestimate how much stuff they own, but my miscalculation was severe. I was moving four large pieces of furniture "and a few boxes," I thought. More like 25 boxes of books and I don't know how many boxes of housewares, lamps, bags and odds and ends. Don't forget the three bicycles. It could have been a nightmare had the mover I hired (on very short notice) was anyone else than JP Urban. I know from a friend's experience how an unscrupulous mover can hold you hostage while you're freaking out from the chaos of the move. It turned out to be an 8-hour day, but it was money very well spent. The three-man team from JP were pros at everything, worked hard and steadily, and let me control what was done. (Moving out in Manhattan really does require three people, owing to parking and all.) As the day went on, they never flagged nor showed impatience, and stayed til the job was perfectly done.At the storage unit, I asked them to combine my art work from another unit. This was a nearly impossible task as there was just too much stuff. But the foreman on my job was a genius in spatial reasoning. (My phone crashed so I don't have the texts from the company anymore and can't recall their names.) I am still in awe of how he organized the new unit so the EVERYTHING FIT. Including the three bikes. Plus, the men were already familiar with moving art work and knew how to stagger the oil paintings (long to short edge) so the canvas wouldn't puncture. They even gave me one storage tip I'm ashamed that I didn't know before.I am so grateful to JP Urban. It is clear they care about doing the job well and fairly.
