FlexBox Moving and Storage

FlexBox was very quick in getting me a quote and scheduling me on short notice. On a holiday weekend!! I was super grateful for their great communication, and for their flexibility in making arrangements on my limited budget. Good customer service goes a long way!!

The owner, Joe was very personable over the phone which ultimately aided in my decision of moving forward with his company. He communicated the move date and time well. Closer to the move date, we happened to have availability to move earlier which they were accommodating to since they had the day open however the date before the move, it was canceled due to a move that day which took longer than expected and the crew needed a rest. No problem if I got the email but unfortunately the email was sent to the incorrect email address. My husband took off work and had packed and taped everything anticipating the move to find out it wouldn't be til the day after. It was a bit inconvenient so this is the reason for the deduction in the star. Aside from that, the crew came as expected on the following rescheduled date. They were fast, efficient and safely transferred our items. They were even nice in taking time to position heavy furniture for us.

Here are all the reasons my move was bad. This is my first time writing a review and I am doing so just because of this bad experience:-Joe was difficult to get ahold of to schedule the move-The move itself, from one place to another in the same neighborhood with 3 guys, then with 5 guys took longer than my move from New York to Philly start to finish. We had the exact same stuff for both moves. And the movers from New York actually packed then moved all of our stuff in less time than these guys just moved it.-They left my floor length mirror wrapped in blankets and cardboard, though luckily it was not broken.-They did, however break our $600 TV, and Joe offered me $60 which is the legal amount he feels he has to pay. He said he did not know if it was broken before the move (which it most certainly wasn't) and therefore was not responsible.-Before Joe said this, the lead mover had offered to help us get it fixed, yet failed to show up twice when he said he was coming to pick it up. Then I had the above conversation. -They broke a dish, which is not really a big deal in all honesty. Wouldn't care except see above.So as to be balanced, I will tell you the positives also:-The movers, especially Dave, were very friendly and had professional attitudes. They were grateful for the water and pizza we provided, and it did seem like they were working hard.Overall, I would definitely not recommend this company to anyone and I will never use their services again.

After comparing many rates online and exchanging conversation with some owners, I came across Joe's company. Not only was he straight forward and communicative compared to others, his rate was unbeatable. Jack, Dave, and Ron were wonderful movers. They are super sweet guys and if they had questions they asked rather than make assumptions. I'd have them move us again in a heartbeat.

At first I was really happy with my experience with Flexbox. I was helped very quickly and effectively with my things during my move out, and the storage costs were at a price I was willing to pay considering the length of time as well as the efficiency and convenience. However, when I was moving my things from my storage box in Philly to Manhattan, I was meeting the movers the same day they were driving into the city and my bus was delayed an hour. I was extremely worried that they would have to wait and I called and texted the minute I found out so that advanced planning could be arranged. (We never arranged a specific time before the breakdown, only a time frame because there were "two to three other people" who were also needing to move into the city.) So when I called I was told not to worry and that they'd come to my apartment last so the waiting time to be minimal. I made arrangements with my super so that the movers wouldn't have to be waiting outside the entire time and could move in before I arrived. After this the move-in went smoothly and quickly.I assumed like in my prior interactions that someone would follow up and that I would be properly invoiced. Instead, I was charged a very high amount on my credit card WITHOUT an invoice and have yet to be refunded or at the least have the situation explained to me (it's been over 3 months). I have called Joe's personal cell phone (no one picked up multiple times), left a voicemail, and sent emails as well as texts, as we would communicate via messaging for previous arrangements. My login with them has been deactivated so I cannot even access my online bill. I simply wanted a legitimate invoice so I could see what I was paying for exactly - I understand I was late but it didn't seem to be a problem in terms of incurring extra costs. Perhaps I will receive some type of invoice after this, but would not be surprised if I receive nothing. All I can say is that as with the other one-star reviews, Flexbox cannot be trusted when it comes to charging and taking your money.
