Budget Friendly Movers

I used Budget Friendly Movers for my first real move to a "real" apartment per a recommendation from an old roommate and had a great first experience with them. They were quick, friendly, and very understanding when I locked my keys to my apartment in my car once we arrived at my new apartment to unload. They also had great pricing (as a student, I appreciate a good deal) and cool discounts like booking online and paying in cash. Since I was pleased with my first experience, I scheduled an appointment to move to my new apartment and recommended them to my boyfriend to use as well. Although there was a little delay in their response supposedly due to "server problems", they still booked my appointment without a problem.As it got closer to my moving date, my boyfriend ended up booking with another company who actually offers to contact the city on your behalf to obtain parking passes for the day of  your appointment (which I found to be very considerate and important). I emailed Budget Friendly about this and asked if this was something they could do... and I have yet to even receive a response. They never confirmed my appointment, and have not responded to one attempt I've made to contact them over the course of three weeks. I ended up sending an email requesting to cancel my appointment and STILL have not heard from Budget Friendly to even confirm the cancellation of my appointment (let alone the booking of my appointment).I'm not sure if it's a server/email problem, so I'm giving 2 stars because I did have a decent experience the first time around- but their lack of communication is super unprofessional and I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for your moving needs.

I submitted an online quote form on July 23rd for a move on August 5th.  Three days later, I received an email from either the manager or owner.  He apologized for the delay, stating it's a busy time of year. I was out of town, so I didn't get the message until the 29th.  On the 29th, we send several emails back and forth.  It's a bit difficult to get firm answers to my questions, but I am happy with the prices and ready to book. I send him a message on the 30th saying I want to confirm.  On August 1st I email him again as I haven't gotten a response yet.  Several hours, later he finally replies.  I email him back almost immediately as I want this saga to end and I need to know that my things will be packed and moved on Friday.  No response.  I email him AGAIN to firm things up and he responds, noting that he'd forgotten some more fees and asking me how many boxes I'll need.    At this point I decided that if it is this difficult to book my appointment, I can't imagine that the move will go any more smoothly. Maybe they really are that busy, but this company has permanently lost MY business as a result.

Budget friendly movers - NOT VERY BUDGET FRIENDLY!  I shouldn't have tried to be cheap and gone with this company. It was terrible! I implore all people who want to save money out there - this is not the answer! The reviews looked promising when i made the appointment, but I guess there were too few reviews before.They did not show up on the moving day! I kept calling them on the day of the move, and NOBODY picked up. I e-mailed Matt after 2 hours of no show. He responded me 3 hours later apologizing asking if I would like to reschedule and I would get an addition 5% off the move. I restrained myself from sending back a nasty e-mail. No thank you!!!! I was planning to fly back home the next day. Thanks to you, I now have to reschedule my plane ticket which costed me another $100 dollars. They originally gave me a quote of $156, which means I would save $8. Please, friendly budget movers, your measly 5% savings does not make up for $100. Do the math. STAY AWAY!

Needed a quick and affordable way to move all our stuff from a trinity (tiny, 4 story apartment with narrow, steep spiral stairs) into our larger 2nd/3rd story apartment a block away.Emailed Budget-Friendly movers a couple weeks in advance and booked them using their online service.  They provided an estimate and allowed us to tailor the booking to meet our needs.  We ended up having to reschedule on them - not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES and they were very accommodating.  They were prompt, friendly and professional during the scheduling (both on the phone and via email) as well as when the movers arrived in person.Two movers showed up exactly on time, as promised (even after numerous reschedules) and moved fast to get to work! We thought since they were affordable and since we paid by the hour they might be kind of slack. Boy, were we wrong! They showed a lot of hustle, worked together well and had our whole apartment packed up and moved into the new space in under 2 hours!! The total after discounts was just over $100, and I threw them a good tip on top of it for their excellent service.  A++, best moving experience I've had, and this is my 11th move in 10 years. Keep it up, Budget-Friendly!

I had an overall great experience with these movers. Professional, reliable and quick! They packed up a one-bedroom apartment in 45 minutes and I was completely moved into another one bedroom 10 blocks down in less than 2 1/2 hours. Pricing quote was as promised. I will definitely use them again!
