Since 1964 Wheaton has held the Good Housekeeping Seal for Interstate moving, a sign that you can count on us for your move. Anchor, and its interstate moving partner, Wheaton World Wide Moving has proven time and again that trust is essential to a successful moving experience. Entrusting life's memories to Anchor and Wheaton World Wide Moving is more than a promise of customer satisfaction — it's a guaranteed way to put a smile on your face. Growing up with a father that was an officer in the Air Force, moving became a part of Mike's life from the beginning.  Relocating every two years spanning the globe, Mike understands that moving is more than just an address change.    Mike began working on the trucks during the summers to help get through college.  Upon graduation, Mike became a sales person for one of the largest van lines in the county and  worked his way up to be one of the top 10 bookers in COD sales, moving over 14,000 families.    In 2008, Mike started a packing business as a subcontractor to other movers.   In 2010, along with the support of his friends, family, and former owners, Mike purchased Anchor Moving & Storage.    «I really enjoyed those two years as a packer, rolling up my sleeves, & working alongside some great people.  It really grew my network of quality workers that I was able to bring with me to Anchor and help the company grow».

This company has moved me twice - once from Glassboro to Philadelphia, and once more about a mile and a half down the road in Philadelphia. The first move was in September on an uncharacteristically sweltering day (I think the high was 97 degrees!). Bob had come a week or two prior to give me an estimate that seemed high, but I hadn't moved before and had no one to help do it without professionals. He walked me through the process, gave me detailed but concise instructions on what was going to happen, and even gave me some really helpful tips on how to pack. On the day of the move, a large truck and three guys arrived at 8am on the dot and immediately started working. For the most part, there were two guys running up and down my stairs with boxes and helping each other with the big furniture and one who seemed to be organizing my things in the truck. My one bedroom apartment was completely empty within an hour and a half. Overall, I was very happy. The guys worked hard and efficiently despite the heat, the move was timely and with no damage to the apartment or two my things, and the estimate was right on the money. There were two things I wasn't happy about with this move: one, I'm an inexperienced packer and struggled with how to package certain items, so I had some "free" objects that the guy organizing the truck somewhat rudely refused to take. Two, the one younger guy was hitting on me and toward the end of the move asked me out, which I declined, but which was unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable. But again, I'd rate this move four out of five stars. The second move was a different story - I wish I could give 4.5 stars total because this second experience was stellar. An estimate was given (over the phone this time) and we set the date for yesterday. Again, the weather had its own plans... It was 34 degrees and sleeting and snowing (in mid April!). Three different guys arrived promptly at 8am and after they had to fanagle the truck a bit (my street was very narrow) they immediately started working. This time, all three guys were up and down, and they had no problem taking the bagged items the other guy wouldn't take. The crew leader or sorts was very friendly and professional, and I was entirely packed up within two hours. Here's the kicker... My new apartment is on the third floor of a row home with very narrow stairs and on a busy and narrow street. The crew handled these hurdles well - there was a point where I didn't think my couch was going to make it, but by some magic, they made it happen! The second leg was a tough move but they did great. Again, no damage to either apartment or my things. The snow and stairs set timing back which jacked up the cost a bit, but overall, this second experience was five out of five stars. I would recommend Anchor Moving. They take the time to set you up in the new home, something I found to be extremely helpful, and I had no issues with unprofessionalism or damage to my belongings.

The movers were great but management did not replace a table that was damaged. It was not made of particle board and was actually an expensive piece. DisappointingUpdate... I got a call after this review. I expressed my concern once again. They said I would be called back and reimbursed. No call weeks later. Don't do business with them I learned my lesson the hard way . I wish I could give a 0

Quoted me $1000 minimum over the phone, without even looking at what was to be moved - was told "Oh he has a lot of work". Welp, one less job to worry about now, right?Generally, you physically take a look at the job before pricing the customer out of interest...this must be an advanced business technique.  Either way, at least I only wasted 3 minutes on the phone.  If anyone I know needs to move, I'll make sure they don't bother these busy, busy guys.

Packed clothing in the bottom of regular cartons with other materials on top instead of using hangers and wardrobe boxes. Also gave us an estimate way above the actual weight of our belongings. Can't recommend this company and certainly wouldn't use them again.

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!!  I usual do not write reviews on YELP but I felt that I had to share my experience with all of you as I don't wish this moving nightmare on anyone.  This company is a complete sham, not trustworthy and will lowball your estimate using a much lower number of hours and amount of movers that you actually need to get your job done just to win your business.  It was extremely sad and deplorable.    Trust me when I tell you to look elsewhere for another moving company.  How it all started - their salesperson came to our house to give us a quote on a moving job.  He seemed very nice and pleasant but ultimately turned out to be nothing but a snake oil salesman with absolutely no morals whatsoever (which makes you think why would Anchor Moving would hire someone like that if all the salespeople weren't like that themselves).  He wrote on my contract that our move would require one tractor trailer and take an estimated 8 hours.  On the day of the move, they actually sent 2 small moving trucks and the move ultimately took 16 HOURS!  And because they charge by the hour, you can imagine how this increased my final bill. The sad thing about this experience is that the movers (led by Will) were actually all very nice and professional.  They arrived on time and were efficient but even they knew (from their years of experience) that the job need a large tractor trailer and would take way over than 8 hours.  I hope this statement doesn't harm Will and his crew but I have to be honest - the movers knew my salesperson lied to me about how long the job would take just so he could win my business and get his commission.  So the movers were lied to by their company as well but unfortunately it was out of their hands - the damage had been done.  I am sure there are a lot of good, honest moving companies.  This is not one of them - they just lie and cheat to win your business.  Moving is stressful enough - do not make the same mistake I made.  Save your money (a lot of it) and go with another company.
